Donald Trump, the road that might not lead to the White House!

That Michelle Obama speech someone posted yesterday is brilliant tbf. Great piece of rhetoric.
It was a perfectly calibrated speech, right words right tone. Same time, don't know whether this says more about me or the cynicism that politics generates, I have a feeling that anyone at the heart of the Clinton campaign must be delighted (rather than appalled) at each new revelation.

I thought this was a glowing tribute from Hillary to her " friend and mentor " when he died . Former Exalted Cyclops in his local KKK chapter , who recruited 150 of his mates into the ranks of the pointy heads . And who courageously refused to fight the Nazis in 1944 , as it would involve fighting alongside " mongrel races " . And who while a congressman in the 60s philibustered against the Civil Rights Act . Puts her " Goldwater Girl " mistake " in a bit of a different light .

Amazing how she gets away with this stuff . Just like the howlers in her hacked emails aren't news either . Imagine for one second that was Trump delivering that homage to that cunt .

The NAACP also issued a statement mourning Byrd.

"Senator Byrd reflects the transformative power of this nation," stated NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous. "Senator Byrd went from being an active member of the KKK to a being a stalwart supporter of the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and many other pieces of seminal legislation that advanced the civil rights and liberties of our country."

Yeah , he philibustered against the Civil rights act for 14 hours straight. But definitely became a changed man later on.

This is weak stuff, though. Even if the daft old racist cunt never did really stop being racist, he had stopped advocating racist political positions, renounced and apologised for them, and started supporting anti-racist ones decades before Clinton's eulogy. Obama also released a similarly gushing statement on his death.

Trump has gone full Millhouse on us

so? There's 324 million other people in the US too. It's an utter failure of imagination to think that of all those people, the most suitable person for the job of president is someone who's married to the incumbent.
There's 324 million people in the US and it is a matter of continual astonishment that of all the available potential candidates, the major parties selected these two.

Who is Curt Shilling and how did he defend America's most beloved sex predator?

schilling is a former major league pitcher who has 3 world series rings and hall of fame statistics. he was a basic GOP supporter while playing and got a gig as an analyst after he retired and that's when he let his mouth loose. he was fired from ESPN for trans-bashing internet posts and why of course he likes trump and his sex comments.

about trump's base: white yes, but not all male, and certainly not all w/c. in my observation it's small business types and other m/c who are driving his campaign. . also party loyalists, of whom there will be many on election day. i trust clinton's team is doing get-out-the-vote activity under the radar, as obama was doing four years ago.

Yes thats exactly what happened.

Why are we suddenly supposed to believe that people who never gave a crap about civil rights, gay rights, minority rights, woman's rights are suddenly their champions?

Agree there must be lots of people not 'admitting' to pollsters that they're still going to vote Trump. Especially if the question comes from a female voice on the phone maybe.

I also don't think any revelations/allegations of bad behaviour by Trump are going to do him any major damage at this point. It's simply not the type of election ..between 2 slightly different suits..were that stuff makes a difference . The only exception support wise would be with career politicians wary of their reputations and interests. For the average voter they probably already hate the other candidate. The bigger issue will be how much they can stomach their own choice . They're 2 intensely disliked, jarring, extremely arrogant but very different personalities . People's minds are probably already made up . The only thing they haven't all decided is probably wether to vote or not . all the mud flinging in both directions will at best just convince people not to vote . Not to switch votes to any huge degree.

That's what I think anyway .

Only exception to that I think is that women might turn out to vote in larger numbers than expected, to vote for the Not Trump candidate.
