You may not care but there are plenty of your fellow countrymen that do care about the building of such an expensive white elephant... Where is the money going to come from to finance the building of this super wall and it's construction infrastructure? Has 'The Donald' actually settled on a height yet (as he seems to vary wildly from 40ft-100ft), or does the height depend on how he's doing in the polls?

Going bit-by bit on that video (and the others after it):
- Anti-tunneling foundation: At least 5 feet deep according to your video (that's if you are doing a half-assed cheap job of it). To guarantee people thinking 'fuck that shit' with regards to tunneling under the wall it would need to be 2-3 times that depth (10-15ft). A 5-foot deep foundation would present little challenge to experienced/determined tunnelers.
- Wall Material: Precast cement panels. Not ideal, but best of a bad bunch according to the experts. One problem with the video: the experts they consulted quoted a 20ft high wall -whereas Trump's minimum height currently sits at circa 30ft. So, to get to Trump's current minimum size, add 30% on to everything as that's how far out the estimates are. But what if we go with Trumps highest quoted wall height of 100ft? Yeah, multiply all of your figures five-fold.
- Materials used: The Concrete comes to 339 million cubic feet @ 20ft height so trump minimum makes that 450 million cubic feet. The reinforced steel is quoted at 5 billion lbs (2.26 million tonnes) so, again, Trump minimum makes that 6.66 billion lbs (3.02 million tonnes).
- Costs quoted: $10.5 billion just for the panels. In the interests of materials completion, at current prices, the raw price for the steel posts is around $285 per tonne, so add $862 million dollars to the materials price tag (rounded up from 861.8 mill). This is the raw cost of steel and excludes the cost of forming/fabricating it to the desired shape(s). So we get a below minimum materials cost just for the wall of $11.3 billion. Bear in mind that this is building it on the cheap, this isn't the red-blooded chest thumping 30 foot monster that Trump is proposing, this is for the comparatively tame 20 footer. For the trump wall we are looking at over $15 billion (this is still using the less-than-intimidating 5-foot foundation depth). This completely excludes the cost of building the highway (and possibly rail) infrastructure required to get these wall sections out to site, totally disregards making the Californian section earthquake-resistant and completely ignores the ongoing costs once this thing is built.
- Engineering challenge: Significant. Not only do you have to contend with the topography and terrain, the wall will also run through Native American reservations that straddle the border, National parks that will be uglified by this concrete edifice and Ranching land (we all know how co-operative those ranchers down south are with the federal govt
). Oh, you also have several water courses and lakes that the wall will have to traverse. How are you going to wall off rivers and lakes to a sufficient extent to stop people going under the barrier in scuba gear? Or are you proposing they get snipered on sight like what used to happen at the berlin wall? - Build time: 4 years if ambitious. By ambitious we are talking height of the space programme ambitious -so you can jack up those build costs by a bit more again
- Unforseen consequences: Who knows what the far-reaching consequences will be, but one thing's for certain, all of that steel pouring into the DonaldWall project is going to seriously jack up the global price of steel and this is likely to have knock-on effects to other steel-reliant sections of the world (including the US) economy.

today one of things you must do to be an astronaut is to be good enough in working russian. They in turn must be passable in english. Good enough to work at a technical level in that language. The soyuz module (russian) is still the escape pod for the ISS. Which, btw, would never have existed without Mir. So we have a diverse and wide crews, europeans, russkis, americans. I may be misremembering but I think some indian astronauts have also spent time up there in the tin can. Its not really about ass being kicked I'm afraid, its about spaceflight and rocketry and satellites for comms.
