Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Iirc Russias second slice of Ukraine was about stopping Nazis. First slice to me seemed quite a bit like Sudatenland/ Czech
We can make all sorts of analogies, but the situation is very different. The existence of nuclear weapons alone guarantees that. The danger I see is that people can only think in terms if WW2, since it really is the only history they know, and therefore they conclude that Putin is Hitler, appeasement is foolish and so on. And I don't just mean the general public, I think it's true of our political leaders too.

It's not a question of supporting Trump, it's a question of the alternative. Biden is obviously unfit for office. His condition has allowed the likes of Nuland to seize control of US foreign policy, and they've been trying to provoke Russia into war since 2014. They couldn't do it when Trump was in office, and they won't be able to continue doing it if he's re-elected. So Trump's re-election is the only viable way to stop the war, and stopping the war is the most urgent task facing us today.
And here we have the Galloway-Farage Axis in summary.

Of course he did, there's no better way to motivate Russians than to tell them they're fighting Nazis. And the West neatly played into his hands by allying with actual Nazis, getting Germany involved and so forth.

so you saying the Ukraine's are nazi now

and trump the best guy for world peace

where you buying your gear from

Here's another thing: guilt by association. It's scraping the barrel if you ask me, but there's a lot of it about. There's barely anything else in some quarters. You make a point and it's like: "oh that sounds a bit like what Hitler/Trump/Putin etc. might say, so therefore you are wrong." There's probably a name for it.

Say what you like about Hitler, and the more I hear of him the less I like him, but at least he killed Hitler

Something tells me you are perhaps not as well informed as you might be on this issue.

Sigh. That photo is from 2014 or so, when the Azov brigade was formed, and certainly had some problematic elements among its founders. Since then however it's been officially absorbed into the state military, and thoroughly de-radicalised (including removal of some of the neo-fascist founders). It is now just a standard regiment, and has been independently audited audited several times and found to have no political bias. Seems like further evidence for my previous suspicion of your lack of any decent knowledge (as the generous interpretation).

My point was that the West blundered by fighting alongside Nazi units because, although they are not representative of the majority, they hand Putin the propaganda tool of representing the war as a fight against Nazis thus motivating his population to fanatical heights that he could achieve by no other means.

My other point was that involving German in the war was a similar blunder because, although Germany is not a Nazi country, it hand Putin the even better indeed unsurpassable propaganda tool of... etc. etc.

There's a whole forum for talking about the Ukraine war. Take it over there.

Why has this thread been hijacked and turned into one about the war, when there's a whole forum covering that?

Good point tbf. I think it was because someone said Trump was the only candidate who would stop the war, so then it went into "how would he do that etc." But you're right.

The art of good trolling is not just to make a controversial statement. It’s to make it in a place that it doesn’t belong, such that other people then face a no-win situation. They can leave the statement unchallenged and implicitly endorsed. Or they can challenge it, but this will disrupt the existing flow of the prior conversation. The troll can then sit back and let the carnage unfold.

Don’t know why I’m telling you this, really. I guess my mind must be wandering.

.... . which is exactly what you've done here! Ha. That's damn good work, fair play.
