It's slightly weird that many who would rhetorically attack Thatcher has so accepted her views, while others on the populist right who rhetorically praise her are actually in disagreement.

In response there have been posts suggesting a different way of thinking about American populism, posting links and articles around that. Suggesting that if you make 'I'm not interested in that' posts, you will be challenged.
tldr? yeah, but 'if people don't like my posts, please just ignore them' won't wash. This is a discussion board. And a thread, on Trump.
I posted the above intending to meet you half way and then ended up being critical, so I'll abandon all that and just ask a question: There has been plenty on this thread and others about neo-liberalism, about deindustrialisation and the impact on communities as well as jobs more narrowly. All sorts of stuff around populism and authoritarianism. Trying to step away from the unpleasantness of the last few pages, have you found any of that stuff interesting or persuasive?
I ask that question in the context of what others have said about the way their eyes have been opened to new ideas and perspectives by reading stuff on Urban.

Why are some posters choosing to continue with the third degree, when they have started another thread for them to supposedly talk seriously about politics? That's a fail for a start. Instructions given to not bandy names around, but to chat about serious stuff, and to make sure people back up their chat. Take a look at the responses. Hypocrites.
Not getting the responses you want, so cue returning to the thickos thread to harass and berate their inferiors, in their minds.
There are some seriously up their arseholes posters on here. There are politics discussed in here, but the constant knocks, sneering and attacking is beyond pathetic. Oh and for the record, where was the ticking off for the vid posted which wasn't in spoilers, and backed up with details about it? Again, hypocrites.
Some of you are ridiculous with your constant attempts at gotcha tactics. You need to wind your necks in, and stop being so fucking condescending, as if you are the pinnacles of knowledge on any topic.
And for the record, Trump supporters are fucking stupid. I've lost count of the times people have attempted to show them facts, but they won't accept them. If they refuse to accept them, with all the evidence out there, then it's case closed. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. It's a cult, a cult of stupidity.
