Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

It's going to take forever to get to actual trial and it's a jury trial in Florida so no matter how damning the evidence they may just decide it's unfair and acquit him.

The question is rather whether he gets convicted in the court of public opinion before the election.

In the US they need all 12 to convict him so only 1 trumpist loon on the jury is enough to get him off which shouldn't be too difficult in florida :(

Its just self-serving BS. He was in the room when 1/6 was being planned. So he knows all about Trump's crimes from the inside. Its a bit like many of Trump's cabinet members who couldn't object when crimes were going on, or remember anything that happened for the grad jury, but they sure remembered in time for the book sales.

That their are senior Republicans prepared now to challenge Trump's faux narrative, may well help with US healing process. That he's put himself forward as a Presidential candidate more than likely explains why, but that's by the by. Also how much of the 6/1 planning he knew about...he, to his credit didn't hold up his end at the time

You'd think the lawyers will check potential voters' social media, and Trumpies generally don't seem too shy about what they say.

I didn’t realise until the other night that ‘God Bless the USA’ is a happy take on financial ruin. I don’t think I’d heard the opening verse before, just the chorus and the crescendo.

Due to Donald, I looked it up on YouTube, and it’s about a bankrupt left with no possessions being glad that at least he’s American. Strange video - sort of like The Waltons.

After Trump’s arraignment, he stopped at Miami’s popular Cuban restaurant Versailles and promised supporters he was buying “food for everyone.”

It turns out he left without paying for a single item.

Speaking of food, here's the latest example of cartoon villainy from Republican fascists:

"Starving kids are good, actually"

Given that "vanillaopinions" is a satire account and there are, as far as I can tell, no links to an actual news story then I would take this announcement with a government funded (or not) pinch of salt.

This is the story

The Republican Study Committee (of which some three-quarters of House Republicans are members) on Wednesday released its desired 2024 budget, in which the party boldly declares its priority to eliminate the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP, from the School Lunch Program. Why? Because “CEP allows certain schools to provide free school lunches regardless of the individual eligibility of each student.”

....The program enables schools that predominantly serve children from low-income backgrounds to offer all students free breakfast and lunch, instead of means-testing them and having to manage collecting applications on an individual basis. As with many universal-oriented programs, it is more practically efficient and, as a bonus, lifts all boats. This is what Republicans are looking to eliminate.

Cheers for that.

Still, I fucking hate internet satirists and want them all to take a long walk off a short pier. They're not funny and they provide plausible deniability for the beasts who actually hold shitty positions.

TBH. It would be an ginormous help if the Republicans made some effort to avoid being compared to satire with their actions. They're become so awful that its difficult to separate fact from fiction.
