Taylor Swift waited until the very end of the debate to post on Instagram that she was endorsing Harris.
I was worried about AI and deep fakes influencing mainstream politics but this wasnt what i had in mindThis is what the Trump camp has been putting out today:

Debate watchers said, 63% to 37%, that Harris turned in a better performance onstage in Philadelphia. Prior to the debate, the same voters were evenly split on which candidate would perform more strongly, with 50% saying Harris would do so and 50% that Trump would. And afterward, 96% of Harris supporters who tuned in said that their chosen candidate had done a better job, while a smaller 69% majority of Trump’s supporters credited him with having a better night.
I am only half an hour in so far, just got to the eating pets bit, and was thinking Harris is clearly winning, so checked to see what any poll had concluded, and this one for CNN shows amongst debate watchers a whopping 63% to 37% think that Harris has performed best.
Got a Fox poll, to yang the ying of CNN?
“Comrade Kamala Harris is going around wanting another Debate because she lost so badly - Just look at the Polls! It’s true with prizefighters, when they lose a fight, they immediately want another. MAGA2024,” Donald Trump posted on his own social media platform. He cited a far-right Newsmax snap poll conducted after the debate that declared Trump the winner over Harris by 93 percent to 6 percent.
Respondents were recruited to participate before the debate and were selected via a survey of members of the SSRS Opinion Panel, a nationally representative panel recruited using probability-based sampling techniques. Results for the full sample of debate watchers have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5.3 percentage points.
The former president’s alternate reality conflicts with that of others, including his current and former GOP allies who said he blew it on stage Tuesday night against Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Even Elon Musk agreed that Harris “exceeded most people’s expectations.”
The conservative aggregation site, the Drudge Report, declared: “The End.” Republican spinmeisters in the debate spin room in Philadelphia couldn’t sugarcoat the situation.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a golf buddy and close ally of Trump, said the performance by the leader of his party on Tuesday night was a “disaster.” He told reporters in the spin room after the debate that Trump’s debate prep team should be fired.
Republicans on Capitol Hill were downright depressed. “I’m just sad,” one House Republican Trump ally told The Hill. “She knew exactly where to cut to get under his skin." The GOP lawmaker added: “The road just got very narrow" and said, “This is not good.”
Fox News’ Brit Hume said, “Look, make no mistake about it, Trump had a bad night. He rose to the bait repeatedly when she baited him, something I am sure his advisors had begged him not to do.”
“In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” said Trump. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there.”
In the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, The Washington Post tried something new: We asked a group of uncommitted, swing-state voters in real time about their reactions to Tuesday’s debate.
They thought Harris performed better, regardless of how they plan to vote in November.
Participants’ answers are edited for clarity and style.
He really went there with the frothing at the mouth internet rumours. It kind of beggars belief that anyone could be saying those things at a presidential debate when it's the kind of discourse that's only fit for yelling at people on a street cornerI watched it repeated on CNN this morning. I think Harris won hands down. The reason I think that is, Harris talked sense and Trump talked nonsense. I don’t think Trump has serious policies and just spouts fabricated crap that spreads fear and division. It’s his only weapon. Harris spelt out her plans and also pointed out what a easy target Trump is for Dictators.
I think if Trump had been President for the last four years, Ukraine wouldn’t exist today. It seems his answer to invaders is to lie down with them and let them take what they want and then claim to be a peacemaker.
His only defence against Harris is to make up shit about her and he looked completely lost when asked about his accusations about the colour of her skin. Pathetic.
A people’s debate? WEIRD.
I wonder if MAGAs vote for him because he’s insane and they find that exciting? He really went there with the frothing at the mouth internet rumours. I guess he makes them feel important because he puts their bizarre invective into presidential debatesI wonder if MAGAs vote for him because he’s insane and they find that exciting?
I think he left some of his jib on that couch.Ask the people to have a debate? Good idea, "the people" could be asked to submit some kind of ballot with an X next to the name of the candidate they want to be president. Each state could count up the Xs for each candidate, and points (maybe call them "electoral college votes") awarded by each state to the winner. The candidate with the most electoral college votes could be declared as the winner of the debate.
That JD Vance is as sharp as a tack, I like the cut of his jib.
Yesterday on CNN leading up to the debate some Republican commentators didn’t give much support for Trump. I think many want to see the back of him.Just watching the after debate bit on my C-4 recording, and the presenter asked the two guests to come up with one positive thing about the other candidate.
Republican guest - as a person I think she does have good intent in some situations.
Democrat guest - he probably has very nice golf courses.
