Them scriptures mean anything you want them to, especially as they have been gently massaged over the years to nudge in the favour of those that published them

In my experience they're also most likely to describe the bible as the "literal word of god". Like all those middle eastern people 2000 years ago were talking the King's English.I ran into one of these Christians the other day that is intent on converting everyone. He told me that Jesus never commanded them to do anything except to go out and convert people. He never said that you had a duty to care for anyone but yourself. I suggested that he needed to read Matthew Chapters 5-7 and get back to me about that. Jesus very clearly instructs people to care for the poor, visit people in prison, and welcome the stranger. I swear these modern Christians haven't actually read that bible they're so fond of thumping.
Jesus was OK really.
It's all his friends...

Do they mention anything about not trusting orange gropers? You imply that they have been changed/deliberately distorted beyond recognition. This manuscript, containing a complete New Testament, goes back to the 4th Century:
Codex Sinaiticus - Wikipedia

And copies of single New Testament books go back even earlier.
I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't consider them friends. He'd probably overturn their tables or something.

I could never get my head around how the centerpiece of the New Testament part of this supposedly literal, unchanging word of God consists of the gospels - four separate accounts of the life of Jesus with lots of inconsistencies between them.
aye the country is brokenMichael Penny, the ex-marine who choked the guy to death on the New York subway (probably for the 'crime' of being very frightened and emotional) has been hailed as a Good Samaritan.
It really does give the impression of being an irreversibly imploding dumpster fire of a place...aye the country is broken
I never got past genesis due to the inconsistencies. The inconsistencies are there to test your Faith.
Am sure he was pictured holding one upside down, at some stagetheres a lot of mad shit in leviticus tbf. When trump was signed in he swore on a dead presidents bible and his mothers bible. Where was his copy eh?
theres a lot of mad shit in leviticus
Jesus could be pretty gangsta…"Leviticus 20:9 – Disrespect towards parents is disrespect towards God.
For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him."
As I don't spoil my children I sometimes get negative comments from them. As such, my understanding is, to follow god's true word, I should take my children to the gates of the city and allow the city elders to stone them to death.
This doesn't strike me as a tolerant or loving religion.
Well yeah. It’s the gospel of Luke. Written decades after his death (if you believe he existed). It's context though. Surely third person?
