Donald Trump got turned down!!!!!!!!!

And Trump's flagpoles continue to cause him problems - That's the third time he has had pole issues at his various courses:

Donald Trump’s patriotism may be popular on the US campaign trail, but councillors in Scotland are not so keen on his flag-waving.

The American tycoon and billionaire businessman has been blocked from flying the Saltire at the clubhouse of his Aberdeenshire golf course after a planning blunder.

Of course, with an English-designed, Lincolnshire-turfed and Irish-built course, you might wonder why Trump actually wants to fly a Saltire but that's by-the-by.

Of course its not his two back-pocket local DC Thomson titles that report this. Instead one goes all gushy about his afternoon teas!

:D

Better not get caught short on his dunes then:

A former social worker has been charged after allegedly urinating among the dunes at Donald Trump’s north-east golf course.

Rohan Beyts has been charged under section 47 of the Civic Government Act (Scotland) 1982 for allegedly urinating in “such circumstances as to cause, or to be likely to cause, annoyance to any other person”.

It is understood police were called to Trump International Golf Links at Menie, near Balmedie, after the 61-year-old was spotted by staff appearing to squat on the dunes.

Staff are believed to have captured the alleged incident on camera.

I wonder what sort of charge I'd be facing if I went around filming women "squatting"?

Another take on the dreadful act here:

Its being reported that Trump has Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall as his guests at Menie tonight.

Never more have I wanted a thunderous storm hit that stretch of coast but its lovely tonight!

And if you needed further proof that Trump's overblown claims about the power of golf in the North East economy were a complete crock of ordure. It was announced today that Carlton Rock's big golf redevlopment project for another established course just down the coast has been canned completely. No money in it, not happening etc - and this is for a place with one of the largest membership rosters in the area!

Similar to the power of prayer then.

He's also got permission to start construction of the "ballroom"/hotel extension that he's been threatening to build for some years now.

Its in a totally different position to the original proposal/application and its current context is quite staggering.

Trump should keep his mouth shut about breaches of planning conditions because if anything, he has clocked-up more than anyone else currently active in the area.

Well, the day that Trump said would never happen has arrived:

Offshore works underway for EOWDC - Vattenfall

Work has now started on the EOWDC.

More disturbingly though - I am kind of horrified to see that Trump managed to get this far without registering with the Information Commissioner:

Trump golf resort in Scotland admits breach of data protection law

It is IMO staggering that a firm as media-savvy as Trump managed to forget to do this and it does indeed leave all sort of questions needing answered about how they have handled themselves up to now. In fact, my feeling is that being unregistered may only really serve to stymie any investigation into how they Trump's lot have conducted themselves so far.

Oh - and the dunes are fighting back. Seems that despite the unauthorised rock-walling and other creative interpretations of the planning conditions, they won't follow Trumps order to stay-put! :D

Without any help from the locals? :)

Given the degree to which locals have been marginalised/ignored by every body who should be defending their interests, then yes that's a fair assumption.

They have not stopped watching though..! ;)

anyone want to start a book on when the USS Nimitz appears of the Aberdeen coast?

Jan25th

Probably on the day Rohan Betys gets Trump into court over his illegally held pee-videos:

Donald Trump’s golf resort near Aberdeen is being sued for breach of privacy and damages by a rambler who was filmed without her consent on the course.

A lawyer acting for Rohan Beyts, a retired social worker and environmental activist, has accused Trump’s staff of breaching the Data Protection Act by taking mobile phone footage of her in April as she allegedly urinated behind a dune on the course.

Go-Rohan! :D

A woman who was filmed by staff as she urinated at US president-elect Donald Trump's Aberdeenshire golf course has been cleared to pursue damages.

Rohan Beyts, 62, said she had to "answer the call of nature" at sand dunes after walking on the beach near Mr Trump's Menie resort in April.

Ms Beyts was reported to the procurator fiscal but no action was taken.

A three-day civil hearing for breach of privacy will be heard next year.

Mike Dailly, acting for Mrs Beyts, said attempts to have the case dismissed had failed and the case would now be heard at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in April.

IT was the attempt to view a copy that turned-up the fact that Trump had failed to register as a data user with the Information Commissioner.

They claimed it was a simple oversight but it is frankly quite staggering that a company as media-savvy/connected as Trump should make this mistake. A less charitable mind might think that their neglecting to register served only to stymie any proper inquiry into the way they have conducted themselves digitally up to the date of registration. :(

Words fail me..!

Donald Trump’s luxury hotel in Turnberry has been handed a £110,000 tax rebate by Scottish ministers as part of an emergency bailout intended to help struggling small businesses.

Figures reveal that the Trump Turnberry hotel on the coast of Ayrshire, where suites cost up to £815 a night, had its property tax cut by £109,530 as a result of the measure. That led to a 13.5% reduction in its normal annual business rates bill of £811,850.

Turnberry: Trump's golf hotel given £110,000 Scottish tax rebate

The only interesting thing to note is that Menie didn't qualify because it is classed as a golf course and not a hotel! Hmmm...!

I love his measured grasp of perspective:

“The people of Scotland will forever suffer! With the reckless installation of these monsters, you will single-handedly have done more damage to Scotland than virtually any event in Scottish history!”

Offshore wind farms. More damaging than the Black Death, the Clearances, urban overcrowding, witch hysteria...

Onshore wind farms are an excrescence, and despite the minority SNP government's claim of self sustainability with renewables, are never likely to recoup the carbon emissions of their creation and installation.

As I drove home from Irvine the other day, it was very clear that the government was talking shit as usual. I passed fifty turbines between Irvine and home on that cold cold day. Every one of them was at a a standstill. What everyone knows, except the fuckwits in government, is that on those cold days, there is little or no wind. At the time of maximum need, the turbines stand contemplating their navels.

Don't worry. Battery farms like the one Tesla installed in S Australia will offset the on/off nature of production. Small-scale hydro for places in Scotland along with batteries would be brilliant. Lots of interconnected local networks instead of one big vulnerable one.

Remember all the noise from Trump about how the EOWDC would never happen?

That is the first foundation going-in, yesterday..!
