Donald Trump got turned down!!!!!!!!!

The top of the range house has got SEVEN khazi's each of the bedrooms has got an en suite, there is a spare one on the ground and another in the attic he must have a terrible fear of being caught short

And to think, Trump went to some lengths to ensure the scheme didn't involve his having to contribute towards an upgrade to the local water, waste water and sewage infrastructure.

People in Balmedie are already having supply problems because of the extra demands from the course this summer. An estate of multi-lavvie houses isn't going to improve matters at all!

Full costs awarded against Trump for the windfarm court action:

A firm formerly headed by US president Donald Trump has been ordered to pay Holyrood’s legal bills over Aberdeen Bay wind farm battle.

Judges at the Court of Session ruled Trump International Golf Club Scotland Ltd should pay legal bills incurred by the Scottish Ministers.

The decision stems from a case at the UK Supreme Court in December 2015.

So that won't be cheap - and for a company that's losing money hand-over-fist as well!

:D

Its official now - SNH have decided there is no reason to maintain Menie's protected status due to destruction of so many of the protected features by Trump.

The three month consultation prior to removal of protection and possible incorporation of the remnants into the Forvie NNR begins soon.

Trump's golf course sand dunes could lose protected status

And despite Sarah Malone-Bates's protestations to the opposite, I have absolutely no doubt that this has been Trump's goal all along - because it removes most of the impediments for further development.

That was my conclusion as well (although I doubt the T-man thought it out all by himself) ...

Does anyone remember Neil Hobday? - Who was Trump's heid-bummer back at the beginning of all this. He did all the initial property deals, lying through his teeth about what he wanted the land for and later exited the project after being caught getting abusive towards local residents at a public event.

Looks like he landed on his feet as the CEO of the Guards Polo Club..!

That's him on the left, with the red tie.

I know I shouldn't laugh as its sad when a village loses its only pub but...

The White Horse Inn at Balmedie has gone belly-up.

North-east hotel closes doors for final time - Evening Express

This place was one of Trump's staunchest supporters in the area and was regularly singled-out as the sort of place that would undoubtedly benefit from the scheme. Indeed its support was so staunch that it unilaterally banned all Trump opponents but continued to host local-level "public" planning exhibitions/meetings etc.

...and now it's gone bust?

I wonder if Pickman's model has any of those tiny violins left? I seem to have worn my last one out during the Tory leadership contest.

Its not a new resort - Its the latest iteration of the same old scheme but with little compliance to the agreed masterplan and they have only passed the second golf course today. The rest of it is subject to another approval, later this week IIRC.

More foot-stamping:

Donald Trump’s family firm is refusing to accept a legal bill worth tens of thousands of pounds after he lost a lengthy court battle against a windfarm near his Aberdeenshire golf course, according to the Scottish government.

Trump firm 'refusing to pay' legal bill for windfarm case

So what happens when they have to pay their planning contributions - they already tried to wiggle-out a while back!

Almost missed this one:

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has now ruled that a number of the trademarks should be cancelled.

As a result, the Trump Organisation will lose its exclusive rights to the Trump name for clothing, footwear, furniture and alcoholic drinks, among other things.

The EUIPO pointed out that the paucity of sales of the Trump whisky meant the trademark was not in genuine use.

In its decision, the EUIPO said: “It is clear the sale of six bottles of whisky during the relevant period constitutes very poor proof of genuine use of the mark for these goods, given the evidence submitted in the prior documents consists, basically, of pictures and a mention in a menu.”

The same was true of clothing, with the evidence showing the sale of a single pair of socks, a shirt and a bathrobe.

Oh dear - So even his much-vaunted merchandise looks to be a sham.

Still, anyone looking to cash-in by launching their own range of Trump trainers, bobby sox, fornicating couches and drams will be dissuaded by the rather obvious lack of any market..!

:D

No he isn’t.

I truly hope you are right but if this thread teaches you anything, it must surely be that you can never underestimate Trump's determination, ability and the lengths he is prepared to go to get what he wants - by whatever means! :(

And if he doesn't get the Presidency, that probably means we get him back, which is a worse prospect than the idiot son and his brother who have been running the show in his name. At least not a great deal has happened under their tenure.

I'm hearing that Aberdeenshire have rolled-over for Trump again and "agreed" a developer "contribution" of approx £10k per house for the Menie scheme - This is well below the approx 25% considered the normal rate for such contributions!

It won't matter - he's either going to be bankrupt, or wearing a Dayglo suit with arrows on, soon. Or both. With any luck.
