I believe that was a humourous remark, referring to the number of original members left in the band at that point, and the type of circuit they were playing on. A bit of a catty dig. You know.
He was in Bucks Fizz in its later incarnations after its hit days were over, They were all from the same template, pretty people singing instantly forgettable songs that all sounded the same. Their performances had about the same relationship to music as a Kraft cheese slice had to real cheese.
I seem to remember hearing that Dollar were appearing at The Hacienda Club in Manchester just before (or around the time) of the second Summer of Love. A surprising choice of act given their naffness. They were bottled off stage.
