No. If he's in an offside position when it's played by a teammate and then it's deflected off an opponent it'd be an offside offence as soon as the attacker gains an advantage by subsequently playing the ball (or interfering with an opponent). Whereas it wouldn't be if the opponent had deliberately played the ball (other than a save).
