Tried to go to the White Bear on Sunday...my friend is obsessed with it?! Anyway it was rammed and we hadn't booked so couldn't get in. The Yorkshire puddings looked good!

Packed! about 150+ people there, so it took a while to get us all into the the hall. The author delivered a good talk with slides. I definitely want to read the Croydonopolis book. I really enjoyed it.

Only if you were either very quick to the front of the queue or prepared to wait for ages after a load of giddy pensioners keen to multitask buying the book and moaning about Croydon Council. (To clarify, friendofdorothy and I are not in that category... yet.)

I might get this if I can find it on Kindle. I went to school in Croydon and have a soft spot for the brutal concrete architecture.

Ha I used to describe Croydon town Centre as a Lego Manhattan. Generic overpriced boxy apartment blocks seem to be the order of the day everywhere, every town and city. Which isn’t great.

I just got this. Great opening. It does mention peep show being set in Croydon though technically they lived in Thornton Heath, not Croydon town.
