Coronavirus Haircuts

I naively entered January more high-maintenance than at any time in my life, with balayaged and double-processed hair and nail extensions. I ripped the nail extensions off when the virus got serious, so I could more effectively wash my hands. I now have sad, peeling nails and long, dry and breaking shaggy hair with dreadful roots.
Pics? :)

I haven't cut my hair in years. I've been rocking this mane for ages before this damn virus showed up.

we have a cupboard full of random box and dimensions dyes, some decent scissors and kid1 who is not at all afraid of wielding them :D

(she decided long ago she could do better than me  shortly afterwards kid2 decided she can do better than me too :D)

Stavros, if you had a choice between thick hair or balding like me, which would you chose? :)

Oh don't get me wrong: my hair is a great asset, as not only is it all there in my late thirties, there's also no grey in sight. I just wish it grew to a certain length, and then stopped.

I haven't shaved for ages, and am starting to have genuine stubble for about the first time in my life. From what I can tell, it's a lot more ginger than my head hair.

I haven't shaved for perhaps 4 days now, I don't know if I am trying to grow a beard or just being lazy, I wouldn't mind a beard, one less thing to do daily but I know it takes a couple of months to look properly like a beard and then the last time I grew it that long my ex from then told me I looked like a tramp :D

I cut my hair about 5 times a year. That's literally all I ever do. Ultimate lockdown hair regime. I due a cut soon, hair must be just over an inch long!

My facial hair grows very slowly, and not very impressively. I console myself with the fact that it just means I'm further along the evolutionary chain from the Neanderthals than most men.

The Mrs did mine. She’s had some practice on the kids lately so didn’t mind her having a go, given that (in theory) I won’t be going outside for 12 weeks or whatever. Not a bad job to be fair, I normally just get a £4.50 no.2 all over at the barbers but she doesn’t like it that short so did a scissors job. Not a lot to work with up top anyway. :)

The receding hairline/increasingly enormous forehead of my father's side finally met up with the male-pattern baldness of (the men) on my mother's. I think they had a litle ceremony when it happened, like the Channel tunnellers did. So where I do have hair is only round the sides and I have no wish to look like this:

So I shave in the shower by touch alone.

Handy hint: If you are thinking of shaving the lot off then for me women's razors seems to work better. I think men's are designed to push up some skin in front of them while women's are designed to do that but also to glide over what is just skin on bone, like shins. And bonces.

I shave in the shower by touch too. (face not head) This is the first time I've ever seen anyone else do this too. I do my head with no mirror, but with clippers. (and not in the shower...)

It's been over 4 weeks since my last visit to the barber, and under normal circumstances I'd definitely be going back soon.

May have to resort to the home haircut with clippers option this weekend. If so I'll post before and after photos

Around about halfway through being put in solitary confinement, I stopped looking in the mirror or getting dressed ( ) or really doing anything apart from using China's version of deliveroo to get chocolate sent to the facility and left outside my door (   ) but they're letting me out tonight, so I just like, washed and had a look in the mirror, and my hair is now down to my waist.

I have a tentative appointment with my hairdresser for Friday, fingers crossed.

Had some clippers but gave them away last year coz I barely used them (this whole pandemipocalypse thing isn't great for those of us with hoarding tendencies ). My hair grows really fast too so already well overdue a cut. Not decided yet whether to just grow it out and wear a hat outside or attempt some kind of diy end of the world disaster hair cut.

Maybe ponytails on blokes will make an enforced comeback?
I usually have mine in a pony, but only when I am away from Mrs T
:D
what I have tried a few times on my hair is a plat. Maybe I need more practice, maybe I need another inch or two, but plats are one of my works in progress.
:thumbs::)
PS. I know how to do them in principle, but behind my head...i seem to be all fingers and thumbs.

Shaving my own as usual, although gone for a number 1 rather than 3 because why not? Also shaved my beard off, first time in about 10 years, was curious. I look chubbier than I recall, but still like an awkward 17 year old. Growing that fucker back soon as. I'm screwed if the trend ever goes back from Hipster facial hair to 'nonces have beards' but hey ho.

Did both the kids back and sides with clippers today. Looks fine and will be doing in future, with a far less frequent barber trip for the top

Shaved all my hair off last week. A shame as my hair was looking pretty good and I don't like cutting it myself as that's when I get to see how much of it has gone grey :(

I am sure that is an experience like this when I was young that put me off going anywhere near hairdressers. I don't like them, I don't trust them,
I have a fear of them.

Noticed that I missed a chunk behind my ear.
Can't really be arsed to shave it so will just ignore it for a couple of weeks.

Also ran out of shaving gel so have a few days growth.
Will just let that grow for a while and see how things pan out.
