Christian Bale losing it

uhh, The Machinist, I'm Not There, Rescue Dawn. perfectly fine performances in all of them.

He's a cunt, really, so much so I'd really, really like to tell him to his face.

He was shit in The Dark Knight, (and I was involved in the publicity for that, met the producer and would have gone to the premiere had I been in the country, so I could easily have been able to have a quiet little word with the Midlantic twat!) that deep Batman voice of Bale's is pure LOL, and apart from that film where he starved himself (The Machinist) and American Psycho (which anyone could have done, frankly) he's done nothing of major merit IMO.

I predict another Mickey Rourke scenario, where movie bosses get sick of his shit and stop hiring him, cue major drink/drug fuckups and stories, until he returns to the silver screen ten years later looking like a baboon-faced orange freak.

On the other hand, shooting an expensive and quiet scene (which is appears they were doing) and having a dozy director of production walking through the background must be really fucking annoying, and from the sounds of it Shane Hurlbert had done this more than once, and DoP's are easy enough to replace...

I think Bale's approach was more unprofessional than Hulbert's though - and it's up to the 1st AD or the Director himself to have a word with the DoP - it's nothing to do with the actor, no matter how good he thinks he is.

I like him. He needs to be in the zone.

And if you think he's bad...think about Russell Crowe! :p

I agree.

Crowe really IS a cunt.

Now if he had dashed a telephone at you, tell me you wouldnt have punched a hole clean through his head.

Off the top of my head I can only think of Vinnie Jones who has recently had a clouting in the US for getting violent and throwing his weight about.

Why does the lighting guy not just go "You know what Bale? Fuck you, you're a shit actor and you beat up your own Mum." He's probably gonna get sacked anyway if an A lister says so.

Hurlbert and McG have worked closely on the 'look' of the film and they are very proud of it. Hulbert was probably messing with lights off camera but in Bales eyeline, hence Bales fit.
People saying 'if he spoke to me like that idve decked him blah lbah' dont have a clue about the movie business. Sorry, you dont.

That's what it sounded like to me. I assumed it was (unfilmed) a run through of a scene with Hulbert off camera (nobody watching the monitor saw him and if he was fiddling with a light it is unlikely that would have been in shot).

Forgot Rescue Dawn. That was ace too.

I think Bale's one of those actors though. I think he's really good, but some people will invariably think he's shit.
