There were 3 issues on this thread; the woman with the brakes; 95%; and 'Toggle the geezer'.
All you had to do was isolate them: the woman with the brakes wasn't sexist per se - explain why; "95%" was nonsense - admit it; Toggle is a female - apologise.
You'd probably still have got some grief based on form but you'd have been in a better position to defend yourself, and other posters would be more disposed to helping you out. I understand it's difficult to maintain composure when you're taking fire from all quarters but if you can't do it you need to either change your posting style, leave, or get comfortable with taking shit.
As I said before I don't think you've posted much wrong on this thread with regards to the subject matter, but your way of dealing with people stinks, and seems purposely designed to attract opprobrium! ...... Fine, I do that sometimes, but don't cry fucking 'foul' when you get the inevitable response.

When have I ever done that? How it works is that I state something, someone argues something else. I stick to my guns, then because I won't change my mind I start getting abuse.

The thing is, the first two issues, he did amend or change them a few posts later but that was just overlooked in the glee from sticking the boot in. The thread was always going to end up here once a couple of posters smelled blood. It is strange because on other threads I see some of these same posters being really helpful and understanding and yet come here and behave differently when part of a mob. And you can blame it all on Bungle but then again it isn't every clumsy unpopular poster that gets this treatment

It's the way it goes here sometimes and it's ugly. A poster sometimes gets a reputation for an interest aspect or character trait and that informs the way they are treated subsequently, regardless of what they post. Bungle has definitely been a victim here, just look at the number of posts that have nothing to do with the OP but are aimed full-square at winding him up.
I just wish he'd help himself a bit more.
Surely the most appropriate thread to discuss this issue would be the one on which it arose with all the relevant background info. Or is it things getting too quiet here and your'e trying to blow on the embers
