Burger Thread. Yes!

That's it. I'm making burgers tomorrow...
I've not had one in ages....and I'm going to top it with cheese, bacon, crispy onions and....yes....pickles.
Sauce to be decided when I look in the press.

Oh..and a slice of pineapple. ... very yummy.

Cant wait !

I just had an ostrich burger. It was very nice.
Big fan of ostrich in general. More forgiving than kangaroo or venison (it's not crap just because it's not rare or stewed for 8 hours), but with plenty of flavour. Not a particularly environmentally damaging animal to rear, impossible to factory farm them. Can't for the life of me understand why it hasn't taken off more. Sure it has flavour, but so does lamb.
Our six year old proclaims it to be his favourite meat.

Ostrich burger is lovely. In Lincoln there used to be a food stand that sold them. Would regularly treat myself on the way back from uni, as they weren't outrageously expensively either.

I just think it's a mix that people can be quite conservative with meats they eat and often more exotic things can be more expensive, which can also put people in of trying things.

Oh yeah, there is (or was a few years ago) an Ostrich farm just outside Lincoln. Oddly enough.

They are nice I agree.

Had a veggie burger in a Camden pub yesterday. Tasted ok (bit bland tbh) but the massive letdown was when I realised they'd served me a pretty soggy and loose patty sandwiched between two halves of a bun that had a thick chewy crust. Cue burger splattering fucking everywhere on the first bite.:mad: Amateurs.

I may have to get a train to Dundrum (bit of a trek in Dublin) just to try the one and only Five Guys in Ireland (so far). I'm keeping an eye on their city centre opening
I found getting to Dundrum fairly easy via the red tram line, is a stop anywhere near you?

No, I would need to be in the city first. I would say it's not too bad to get to, but it's 8 stops and I couldnt justify going when Bunsen and Wowburger are closer by (and pretty unbeatable).

Speaking of Wowburger, I had a delicious cheeseburger today which was tender, juicy and badly needed. Onion rings and vanilla milkshake on the side - win!
