Brrrr! Who's got the heating on?

Have you put the heating on?

Shorts are dry enough, so that's the heating for this evening.
My window is open too - I need my fresh air.

Not got the duvet on yet but had the cooker on so that's keeping the place a bit warm and I'm getting up and down a lot! I'll be ready for for cosy time soon enough.

Just shut the windows but am still in shorts and t-shirt. Say what you like about modern construction but its toasty.

After living in squats in Brixton for decades I'm now ensconced in a relatively well build and insulated flat I haven't turned the heating on yet and even with a summer duvet I find myself throwing it off during the night.
There's a pic somewhere with the hut I lived in in Villa road with two foot icicles on the windows, that believe me was fucking cold.

I'm absolutely boiling. Our communal heating is on full blast (the temperature is 18C according to the BBC) and even though I've turned all the radiators in my flat off, obviously everyone else has theirs on. I'm wearing a summer dress, have all the windows open and am still sweating! Ridiculous cold people!

Mild as anything in Bristol today - I cycled home in tee shirt and shorts. :)

Still only says 16.6 in here though. :hmm:

My South American Brugmansia is still flowering like mad.

Ant that's two species of tobacco behind it.

Sadly I'm not getting much in the way of fragrance though. :(

Even milder today in Bristol and I'm even getting a citrussy whiff from my brugmansias 30 feet away.
Haven't had to put my long trousers on yet.

I sleep with a huge sweater on at the moment, since there's no radiator in my bedroom- not in the living room either, the only heating source is in the kitchen... Old 1930s complex and nobody's bothered to fix it before me. I do own one of those standalone portable heaters though, on wheels and everything- but it needs to be plugged in and my electricity bill is steep enough as it is at the moment- Really worried about how things will be in the winter though, if it gets as cold as last year, we have a problem... Someone will find an ice sculpture in my room in a few years time, and realise it's actually human remains- Ice, ice baby. :(

(and someone needs to tell me how to fix those drafty windows- I've tried everything, and damn it's like unwanted air condition whooshes right there- brrr...)

Its not that bad today - quite pleasant really. Was windy earlier, but mild. Had the heating on this morning, but switched it off and am sat here topless quite comfortably. :)

One of our sofas was in front of the larger radiator. For the winter, I wanted to move in in front of the french (drafty) doors but my partner has been against the idea. He's away for the weekend so the sofa has been moved. ;) I had the heating on for about 30 mins earlier, the room is still warm.

I used to have different furniture layouts for the summer and the winter - swap a couple of settees round and expose the radiator for the winter (it also opened up the corner for a christmas tree) and move them back to have more space in the summer.

I'm hoping that when he gets back he be a) too tired to move it back and b) be pleased that I did the hoovering (thanks iamwithnail ) to complain ;)

Being two floors up and outside blowing a bit it is a little chilly today.............still not got heating on but have socks and cardi on top of my jamas

still no heating, but now we are getting to the time of the year when drying the washing takes a lot longer as the flat is colder, so heating may need to be put on soon-ish:hmm:
