Brrrr! Who's got the heating on?

Have you put the heating on?

Mine is on but I can't get it quite right. Like Goldilock's porridge it's either too hot or too cold

Had the heating on lowish most of the weekend because the middle boy's got a horrible chesty cold and is feeling shivery. It got down to zero degrees overnight here last night though so not like we couldn't use the heating on!

I officially have no heating !

I haven't actually lit the gas in 18 months and am trying to get shot of the standing charge anyway, but my new neighbour just came around to say that water was getting into his bedroom from inside my chimney, so rather than me go to the hassle and expense of fitting a liner and fancy cap, I've agreed they can plop a ridge tile on top like there is on the front chimneys.

So lighting the gas fire now would now be inadvisable !

It's the first of September and my feet are cold! Not actually turning the heating on yet, but it won't be long at this rate. Need to buy new slippers as I threw my old knackered ones out in May.

Not had the heating on yet. We have the back doors open most of the time so the cat can get in and out so I'll just be popping the duvet on if I feel a bit coldish.

I wore my dressing gown last night but we have the patio doors open for the dog.
And even if I did want it on, I can't as the boiler is broken! No hot water either. :(

LPG tank's at 40% last time I checked (a couple of weeks ago) - so that's nearly a years worth of gas usage has used 60% of a tank - the supplier doesn't really like doing too small fill ups so Oct/Nov and will see a 70% fill - that's like getting all of your gas bills in one lump - I'm guessing itr £700 - then some coal, probably 20 bags, that's another £200'ish and if we're unlucky then another £200 worth of coal early in the new year should see us out of the winter cold period

With the windows closed its still a bit too hot for me but as my boyfriend seems obsessed with leaving the windows open I'm having to wrap up a bit!

Nah, I'm still in (3/4) shorts. I'm going to try and make it to October this year I reckon.

I'm in shorts mode and will be until late October / November - though I was very late with that this year for some reason.
But then I live in the balmy south west and I've piled a stack of bags of compost at the back of my under-stairs alcove to deal with the draughts.

Currently in Uzbekistan, it was +34 here today. I had heating on all the way until mid June this year in London, and I am pretty sure that I will need it when I get back to Ldn in a couple of weeks.

18.4 degrees at the level of my bare legs ...
Mind you I just imbibed a good 600 kcals of muesli and fruit salad and am wearing a quilted jacket.

Boyfriend's temperature gage is wonky. :hmm:

No - it is quite warm and only a wee bit chilly in the morning. :)

I'm sat here topless (blinds drawn for sake of decency), and have trouble sleeping because it's too hot. Men are generally hotter than women according to some recent stuff I read, so not surprising.

I caved in and put the heating on. And filled up a hot water bottle.

I do have a cold though.
