Body Shop closed today. Can anyone remember when it first opened?

I've got photos of it from 2000 but I know it had already been there for ages even then.

Ceramic studios have opened up in Brixton.
£65 for a three hour session, or £200/month for open access

It was definitely open when this quirky Anita Roddick short about Brixton's Bon Marché was aired on BBC2 in 1992:

The Day the World Changed

First broadcast: Wed 26th Feb 1992, 20:00 on BBC Two England
Personal reflections on a day from the past, raising issues from history which have become issues of the present. Anita Roddick: 22 May 1877 This is the day James Smith opened the Bon Marche in Brixton - Britain's first purpose-built department store. For Anita Roddick , founder of the Body Shop, the opening of the Bon Marche store marks the death of the little community shop.

oryx is right - I think that Bodyshop was probably seen as a prestige tenant to launch the new-build development on the corner of Tunstall Road, late 1980s.
Of course you had Ted Knight's South Chelsea School of English upstairs, along with Sirena's music business (not been posting since 2017?)
Maybe one to check out at the new Lambeth Archive?
