More taping off in Acre Lane this morning, outside Lloyd's Bank. Burnt out remains of a couple of mattresses, where the conflagration had shattered the left-hand window. Does anyone know any more?
It was all clear when I came back about 1pm on Sunday. No evidence of damage - wondered if they were searching for a blade or bullet. No appeal has been posted.I walked past a little after midnight and didn't see any tape or police
A socket setBig film crew is in action around Electric Lane and other locations. They seemed to have several people trying to bloke anyone taking pics but - hah! - I grabbed one.
What's the thing under the front of the car?
I've just received this, about Lambeth's consultation on dog controls. I try not to be too cynical, but I'll be suprised if this is any different to any previous 'consultations', even after the Kerslake report.
Lambeth Council is carrying out a consultation to ask residents for their views on a new proposed Dog Control Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for Lambeth.
The need for a Dog Control PSPO has arisen due to an increase in dog related anti-social behaviour issues in the borough, such as dog fouling, dogs making unwanted contact or acting aggressively, or being walked in banned areas, such as children’s play areas or formal ornamental gardens. These issues have a detrimental effect on the local community’s quality of life.
The proposed PSPO will be applicable borough wide, or for some proposals restricted to certain areas only, and will apply to publicly accessible land owned by Lambeth Council, including in parks, highways and communal housing land.

Presumably the 0-4 is lower than the older, could also be difference in inner London vs outer.the wider narrative seems to be fewer kids in London but stats don't seem to show that.
looking at Census figures:
overall population 2011 vs 2021: England ▲6.6% London ▲7.7%
age 0-15 as % of total population:
london, 2011 vs 2021 = 19.8% vs 19.2%
england, 2011 vs 2021 = 18.9% vs 18.5%
slightly more but doesn't seem significant enough and basically in line with rest of england. (1.2% down, whereas England is 0.9% down).Presumably the 0-4 is lower than the older, could also be difference in inner London vs outer.
It’s small schools closing so doesn’t need huge numbers I guess.slightly more but doesn't seem significant enough and basically in line with rest of england. (1.2% down, whereas England is 0.9% down).
areas of london as well I guess. more central/expensive areas losing kids, maybe outer areas gaining. It’s small schools closing so doesn’t need huge numbers I guess.
As I said elsewhere can’t say I’m sorry to see publicly funded faith schools closing tbh.

Numbers are definitely falling:I don't believe demand is falling. All Lambeth will do is forward the kids to City Heights and Evelyn Grace which are under subscribed and save a few quid
Yeah exactly. In my household at one point there were no primary school age children then 8 years later there were two of them. That’s a huge percentage increase.I'll rely on personal experience
Yeah - reckon the CofE should really have checked with you first.I'll rely on personal experience
Almost every single school in Lambeth is desperate to fill their roll. Primaries that used to have huge waiting lists are easy to get into, less popular ones are under threat of closure.I'll rely on personal experience
And Covid.Seems to be a decrease in the birthrate with main causes being house prices & rental costs and Brexit.
It's still difficult to get into a good secondary, but there are loads of primaries. Also the deficit is only just hitting secondaries. My kids classes are still well into the 30s. My 14 year old son has a 40 minute commute to school. It was very difficult to find anywhere half decent. How come there's such a huge change in a few years?
Yes, as someone with a young family and thinking about primary schools, we are spoiled for choice at the moment. At least four or five in easy walking distance. That's probably not sustainable.Seems to be a decrease in the birthrate with main causes being house prices & rental costs and Brexit.
