I've just remembered I was going to make my fortune this festival selling kids safety scissors!
A collection of the security haul Sat afternoon last year (doesn't inc the stuff from the gates/eviction tent). In the tesco bag are weed/grinders and the bin bag on the floor is nos cannisters. And endless pairs of scissors!
Later I saw all the actual drugs but I thought it cheeky to take a pic.

not saying it's right but it's hardly surprising that there's people enforcing the law of the land at a very large event know to be full of munters is it?
Plenty of tiny events down south that aren't so full on security-wise but Boomtown is pretty much the most notorious licensed messfest there is so it's not a shock that we have to play the game on their terms.

same in Scotland- it seems totally bizzare to me and completely against what I think of as a festival .

wtf are they doing taking safety scissors off people? Pretty much standard camping equipment for running repairs to tents imho & a tent peg is potentailly a more dangerous weapon in the wrong hands!
Again, the surprise at police wanting to nick people for drugs is, erm, interesting. It's what they dosame in Scotland- it seems totally bizzare to me and completely against what I think of as a festival .
I'd be shocked if there are no searches at, say, Leeds or T in the Park btw

If we're talking about sniffer dogs at southern festies, I can tell you the pooch on duty at Bangface Weekender last year was CRAP and probably quite deliberately so.
It's a game - it depends on the size of festival, reputation, local plod and local council. Just don't be all horrified if they're there looking - the law may be an ass but those enforcing it aren't entirely ignorant of what we're all up to!

same in Scotland- it seems totally bizzare to me and completely against what I think of as a festival .
Don't forget there's been a spate of pill deaths in the area (see threads in drugs forum). The police would naturally want to minimise the chances of any more.
Obviously this has no bearing on me at all

I've not been allowing myself to look forward to this too much cos its been far from certain that i'd be able to go... i am now over excited just got me supplies, my rucksack back off me mate etc and i can't wait!
