yes i guess down that way the scene was that dodgy it woulda been risky speaking out and they coulda only done it like the Blaggers did, with their own security etc . The Business were never dodgy but like all London bands had the odd dodgy hanger on . As for todays bands yes i'm afraid most of the UK bands just sound like some old Daily mail reading grandad which is completely at odds with say, Germany where most of the bands are openly anti fascist
As far as i remember the business gig happened sometime around 93-94 when anti fascism was surely stronger in the punk/oi scene and the band themselves weren't even attacked.They'd have had loads of backup if they'd stood their ground...About recent stuff, what d'ye make of rebellion?Not trying to pick a row I'm genuinely interested.
I find the mix of bands a wee bit strange, definitely a few dodge ones from time to time, and quite a few dodgy people in the audience as well,although i'm getting that second hand, never been meself.
Some of the german skinheads i've met are very sussed individuals.
