Billionaires are evil

I had not seen this...what's the basis for manslaughter? Interested to know..

It is a whopper of a coincidence.....his partner getting knocked down last weekend.
And how would a "Water Spout" be conjured up to sink the yacht? And just that yacht? Also...allegedly the doors were left open and the hatches that night... So presumably that would allow water to pour into the yacht.

I can't see how a water spout could be "made" let alone one that could just affect only one yacht

Story here

Manslaughter considered by Sicily yacht sinking investigators

Italian authorities investigating the deaths of seven people in the sinking of a luxury yacht in Sicily say they are looking into potential crimes of "shipwreck and manslaughter". Ambrogio Cartosio, chief prosecutor of the nearby town of Termini Imerese, stressed however the investigation was in its initial stages and they were not currently looking at anyone specifically.

It all looks a bit speculative, TBH

Doesn’t matter whether they do or not! Some of the comments are disgusting, comments made by those hiding behind their keyboards, who wouldn’t dare say them if their names were known.
If the comments on this thread are offensive to you, avoid going through the archives to look at the "Thatcher's dead" threads.
The poster wanted a link about migrants destroying documents. I supplied it.
Generally, posting links to dodgy agenda-driven orgs will result in a robust response here...
All this drama and animosity over showing empathy for some people who have been killed, one of them being an eighteen year old girl with her whole life ahead of her
The overwhelming majority of comments on a "Billionaires are evil" thread were, unsurprisingly, about the billionaire in question and, unlike with your point-scoring attempt, she was mentioned by name previously.

Members of a family have died. It made the news because it was a famous person and his family. His wealth and status doesn’t matter now. It is a tragedy for the family left behind. Have some respect and leave off the nasty, ignorant and unfeeling comments!
There have been 69 refugee deaths in the Med so far this month. Care to know how many had front pages and hours of live news reporting dedicated to them?

Don't waffle on about how unfeeling everyone is here when you've made no similar effort to tell anyone in the media off for only caring about Med deaths when people are rich ehough.

Your first sentence sums it up.

The deaths of the individuals on the Bayesian are no greater tragedy than those of any of the refugees drowned in the Med or the Channel.

However, comparing the column inches given to this, to those of other unfortunate, but nameless, individuals is fatuous. One of the biggest factors that dictates the weight of reporting is the rarity of the incidents. Unfortunately, refugees dying on boats is commonplace.

It's not every day that one of the richest men in the country goes down, along with the Chairman of Morgan Stanley, and their families, on an "unsinkable" yacht.

i wouldn’t waste a moment’s more time thinking about it, if I were you

That's being generous.

The official causes of the sinking will likely have a huge effect on insurance pay-outs, not to mention the reputation and future fortunes of the boat builders, owners, financiers and operators. And this is Italy! One can expect the blame-game to be in full swing by now, along with bribery, threats and every other type of extortion imaginable.

I wouldn't want to be on the investigation team.

Which was why I responded on this thread, if I'd wanted to get into a debate/argument about migrants, I would have gone on a thread dedicated to them.

Point-scoring attempt :facepalm::D

That's bolllocks. I've 5 degrees, bachelors and masters, in history, humanities, English and librarianship and if i can't see them I don't suppose they exist outside your imagination
As I read their post, I was wondering what constitutes a good education in their view and how the fuck they would recognise it.

How can you possibly know what I have or have not done?
Spymaster summed it up well, in my opinion.

You're in no position to crow, you've certainly fucked up punctuation and the odd spelling but it's not the thing I'd have mentioned. E2a However the greater point is that you're a) full of shit and b) dallying with racists. It's strange how often those two go hand in hand.
Took you ages to think of that edit- was it worth it?
