1991 - c*ty fans on their way back from a defeat at West Brom diverted to Twerton Park and successfully torched the main stand. As I said, the social club inside was playing host to a wedding party at the time. We spent most of the following season playing in front of an even more ramshackle ground than usual. The rivalry in the 1990s was especially intense and bitter. Numerous incidents over the next ten years or so of tit for tat attacks on rivals' pubs, pitch invasions, televised near riots etc. I can remember bricks being lobbed into the back of the Pop Side at Twerton during a derby fixture one year (around 1996 I think). There's always been rumours that the South Stand fire at Eastville in 1984 was started by their lot as well, but nothing concrete
