Best time to hit the 'Reduced To Clear' section?

Not strictly speaking TB but in TK Maxx there were some food reductions today. Montezuma chocolate hearts at 50p with an RRP of 3 quid. Prestat hot choc flakes for £7.00 for 3 rather than the £7.95 per box I've just clocked on their website. Fancy pants Belgian crisps, big bag for 50p.

Just cleaned Tesco Clapham South out of haggi

£2.40 each!!!

Not had haggis for a while. Were the ones you bought free range though? :hmm:

I bought loads of tubes of cadbury's mini eggs the other day in Waitrose - 39p each. :)

Sainsburys by may way (Balham) are tight bastards. never more than 1/3 off, and because it is such a busy supermarket, things always get snapped up at that reduction so they never have the chance to reduce them to what I consider a satisfactory level (50%+).

Even when there is an absolute pile of the same product, at 7pm, never more than a third off.

Went into Waitrose for my free coffee this morning and there were fuckloads of instant cereal things reduced by at least 50%. They're really handy for when I go away to BJJ things so I got 3x7 sachets of porridge with seeds, 4 pots of raisin, honey and almond granola and 3 bags of chocolate granola. Didn't want to buy more coz I was in a rush to get to work but I've just texted my mum asking her to get whatever's left tonight. The amount of reduced long-life stuff in my room makes it look like I'm getting ready for the apocalypse.

Popped into Waitrose for my free coffee this evening, and all the turkey and mustard slaw sarnies were reduced to 19p. That saved me cooking dinner tonight and I got enough for tomorrow as well..

I normally shop in Aldi, which has no TB and Morrisons where the reductions are normally tiny. However I moved to a village early this year and the only shop is a co-op. I try to avoid going there as it's a lot more expensive, but they do genuine discounts.

Ginsters Cornish Pasties for 30p tonight. I bought all 4. One is a snack for later, the others are now in the freezer.

There's a Lidl and a Morrisons where I live and they both do decent reductions. :p

Unexpected meats in the Sainsbury by my work just now. I got 20 'outdoor bred pork' chipolatas for £1.94 and two TTD burgers for £2.something.

Thanks to this thread making me think it was a normal phrase, I used the term 'tramps buffet' in front of a group of people who work with the homeless. I now understand that it is a U75 speciality that should not be used in actual conversation. I have been told, and will not repeat the phrase again. Ever.

Morrisons today was like a fucking rugby scrum. I really though it was gonna kick off. The assistant putting out the stock looked like she was shellshocked.

most of it was shit but did come out with 500g of roast beef and 2 packs of posh ham for 9p each

I've had to quickly stop myself mid-sentence using the term at work, and say 'reduced to clear' instead. :D

I've discovered that the local Waitrose reduce their fresh-baked bread around 6:45pm, so you can get some lovely bread for 9p a small baguette, or 15p for a loaf. :)

I don't understand though, it is clearly a term that is unacceptable in normal life, so why is it OK to use it here? There are some things I will never understand :/

What is that in the middle that is reduced to £0.07? Regardless of what it is, that seems like a bargain!
Steak pie (freezable), reduced from 68p so in a selfish TB moment I grabbed them all. Combined with the 19p sausages and the 28p chicken salad for my lunch today, I consider myself lucky I popped into Tesco late in the evening on a bank holiday weekend :)

It isn't ok. I think Fedayn (I think it was him) said it wasn't on quite some time ago on this thread, but it carries on regardless.
I'm not really that comfortable with it either. I know it as the whoopsie counter after it's name in Asda, but whenever I say whoopsie someone usually asks what I mean, so I've given up as TB seems to be universally understood on here
