Best time to hit the 'Reduced To Clear' section?

Today I got some gzoya dumplings and dip (£2.50), pork saltimboca (£3.00), trio of Mexican dips (£1.55) and some heart shaped chocs (75p) from M&S tramps buffet.

Not the cheapest bargains but the first two are in the freezer, the second will go nicely with chilli tomorrow and the last is chocolate!

When you blow yourself up in the name of tramps buffet, I'll be the one making a statement to the press condemning your actions and reminding people that the majority of buffeteers are law abiding citizens who want to live in peace with their neighbours.

I would definitely consider taking my life and the life of others in search of a bargain from the tramps buffet. Nothing in the world makes me more pissed off than those awful moments of an evening when the cabinet is bare. unfortunately, the misses often takes the brunt of this anger, but luckily she understands it is for the greater good.

I would take all 4 steaks at that price. In fact, I pretty much take everything I see if it has a yellow sticker on it, even if I don't like the produce I force myself to eat it out of principle. I guess that makes me a TB fundamentalist, and what?

There's some greedy bastards about. This rich old fella in Waitrose had a trolley full of multiple discounted items and was shamelessly hanging round any staff member with a price gun and grabbing pretty much anything they priced down. Not fair. Unsportsmanlike. He should exhibit more restraint and less undignified grabaliciousness.
Dunno why it bothers me so much, but I had to overcome by burning desire to call him a greedy bastard and to leave some for the rest of us.
There ought to be RULES.

Result in Morrisons last night - massive box of hardboiled eggs from the salad bar for £1.19 and whoever had been doing the reductions obviously couldn't be bothered entering new items into their sticker machine. Loads of packets of pigs liver marked down to 65p and then a few other things chucked in with them at the same price. Missed out on a pack of diced venison  but I did get twenty quids worth of steak for £1.95!
I've been having a lot of luck there recently, got two packs of four big salmon fillets for £2.55 each last week too.

Got quite a lot of meat in Waitrose earlier on, as I've got an empty freezer to fill. Not massively cheap but decent food - £25 off what it would have cost at full price.

Free range chicken breast fillets x2 £3.69 down from £5.27
Yellowfin tuna steaks with lemongrass, coriander and chilli butter x2 £5.79 down from £8.35
Free range chicken thighs 2 packs of 4 £2.81 each down from £4.01
Chicken drumsticks and thighs with red peppers and chorizo £2.55 down from £3.65
Salmon and watercress sauce fishcakes 2 packs £2.89 each down from £4.17, plus another £2.34 off for the two fishcake offer for £6.
New Zealand half leg of lamb 2lb £6.31 down from £9.49
Pork chops x2 £1.79 down from £3
Pork fillet x2 (around 500g odd each) £2.83 down from £4.75 - no idea what I'm going to do with these.
2kg Whole chicken with sausagemeat stuffing topped with butter and smoked streaky bacon £7.64 down from £12.41

So lots of good meat to keep me going for the next few weeks.

Big pack of smoked salmon - £4.00 reduced from £12.00
Couple of packs of Parma Ham from the deli counter - £1.90 each reduced from £3.80
A Lamb shank at 50% off - can't remember how much exactly.
Some casserole beef at 50% off.

I'll never turn veggie at this rate :(.

Oh yeah, and my local Scotmid had a stack of free range eggs reduced to 20p per half dozen. Not short dated so no idea what the story was there. I bought two dozen anyway.

Eggs can be displayed for up to a week before the Best Before date so in essence they have to be sold a week early.

strangely enough I got two packs of jus roll at 70p from the local Nisa stores. Not the greatest of savings, but when do yoiu ever see jus roll in the tb. odd.

I find puff pastry a fair bit at local co-op, but own brand stuff. Often reduced to 10p.

Boneless pork leg at 25%cost price.
Streaky bacon from deli counter at half price.
Tsco finest burgers at half price.

I bought two things marked as '2 for £5' in Waitrose, one of them already reduced, and when I came to pay they did not deduct the amount of the reduction from the £5.

This is fucked up.
Unlucky! :D

It always works for me, but maybe that's only when both items are reduced?

Had a few good dives in the last week or so. A £8 box of assorted "finest" cheeses for £2, 2 bags of sprout flowers for 5p a bag, a huge bag of kale for 40p, lots of left over valentines chocolates 75% off (between £1-2.50 a box) - I can't remember what they were called, as we eat them in short order, but they were very nice.

Today I had a lunchtime forage which resulted in some cod, posh sausages, lamb breast and pork belly all at 60% off.

Both freezers are now full again

hit Asda late tonight and the chilled TB shelves were bare :(

However I got a bag of herb salad that will do lunch tomorrow for 2p and a bag of red and green kale for 2p. I still haven't used the 40p kale I got 2 days ago though so I'm gonna have to start thinking of novel ways to use it

2 more bags of sprout flowers at 5p a pop. Now I really like kale, but it's been a constant in my fridge for a couple of weeks now. Weeks and weeks worth of dirt cheep kale. I must find some new ways of using it.

Bum bags. Waitrose have caught on to the reduced multibuy deals. Reduced food does now not deduct the multibuy reduction (which made some food almost free, and some actually meant that Waitrose actually gave you money).

Learned the hard way buying three double packs of chicken breasts at £2.50 (from £5.30) Expecting a three for £10 deal would see an extra £5.90 off.

I need advice from you experts: in Tesco Brixton this evening (whose tb should normally be reported under the trade description act) I came across a load of smoked salmon and pulled pork with no fucking reduced price on them.

In panic I left them, assessing the risk of taking them to the till and finding they weren't reduced as too high. Did I react correctly?
