Beautiful Days 2012

On course for persuading my brother (older than me) and nephew (26) to come along too ..... they're not regular festie goers at all :D  , but they actually both seem pretty keen ATM ... :)

Well, it seems they should get tickets pretty sharpish William, 75% were sold by the end of March. I reckon this will sell out by mid may at the latest.

Good call, and thanks for the alert. Will text them NOW!

ETA : dunnit. Now fingers crossed that others in my clan are can be festie-planning organised as I am ... :hmm:

Got tickets along with some friends now. Means I can't do Boomtown, as that, then this, then Burning Man in three consecutive weekends would be mental, but think Beautiful Days is more my thing at the moment anyway.

Yeah I will be going from camping in norfolk, to boomtown, to BD, and to shambala for 4 consecutive weekends. Im a bit scared

If i do bimblebandana to, ill end up doing SGP----> Bimble----->Norfolk------>Boomtown -------> BD ---------> Shambala. And then be shattered back at work on the tuesday.

Theres much worse ways to spend a summer though :D

I refuse to accept anyone can be as well organised in the festival stakes as you William. You're a festival attending machine.

Yep, not been since 2006. Changed much?

The main bits are still the same, there has been a bit of changes around where the little big top is. Also increasingly over the years (as numbers have increased) the car parks have got slightly further away and the main camping areas are now out on the way to the car parks. The original camping site next to the main stage is still there but noty as popular, probably because its a bit more of a party area so not great if you have little kids or like sleep.

Notice on the main website saying that tickets have virtually sold out, so anyone who was planning to buy should do so ASAP.

On the BD site, I just found the notice dated 5 April saying 75% had sold out, has there been a different update since then then?

I'll warn my brother and nephew again anyway, just in case.

And the tickets have all sold.

Really early this year, not sure why. I know its the 10th birthday but I can't see that they're planning anything particuarly special, the line-up is also pretty average as well. Either its the hords of Frank Turner fans or word has spread about how good the last few years have been.

Just praying for some dry weather, any predictions William?

Yes thats a good point. I wonder if any other festivals are getting a surge in their ticket sales? If anything some seem to be struggling more than normal.

Secret Garden Party sold out much quicker than ever before this year & I think Bestival, Boomtown & Beat-Herder are all getting fairly close. But these are all events with rapidly growing reputations and are also probably benefitting from the one-festival-a-year-crowd having a year off Glasto.

Interesting. Yet I see that Reading, Leeds and T in the Park have not sold out yet, you'd think they would be the main beneficiaries of no glasto. Times they are a changing.

Bollocks!!! on the selling out QUITE so quickly as that ... :( :(

My nephew and brother aren't nearly as festival-booking-organised as us .... perhaps they'll attempt to secure tickets by a later backdoor route ... <ponders>

tbh I can't make a decision till May/June due to money/imminent job loss reasons, so I probably would have missed out anyway. Will have to start punting my DJ skillz round :D
