beatles songs which are actually quite good

yoko was good though

i really like yoko ono

if it hadn't been for her then think of all the songs that john lennon wouldn't have written

imagine
war is over

in this video

she is as prominent as john lennon, she i think so, really taught him about lots of political things

Yoko is on Rocky Raccoon isn't she? Being all squeaky.

yeah i think youre right electrogal...

ive mixed feelings about yoko ono, on one hand you could look at it as a grand love story, on the other you could look at it as someone who seemed incapable of being in a relationship with someone obviously very famous but not being able to handle it properly and have her own 'thing' and interests and whatever while he worked, then having their personal life as a separate entity , i mean, at the end of the day thats what it was, work, that was his 'job'...

i suppose everyone knows the myth or whatever that shes the reason the beatles broke up and who knows if thats true or not...but imo it was weird that he couldnt seem to do jack shit without her being attached to his hip...

but i guess people could say the same about paul/linda mc. etc...

i just personally find it weird and suffocating to imagine (ha!) having my nose in every single fucking thing the person i was with or married to was involved in, especially when they are musicians/actors/etc (in the public eye)...i dunno what im getting at tbf, im rambling about being involved with someone famous and being secure enough in myself to get on with MY thing, whatever that may be, while they get on with theirs and maintaining the personal relationship and not being in the papers every other fucking day, also being savvy enough to know when my actions are causing problems for them work-wise, rather than having some crazy bed-in :D...

im musing out loud basically. because i can. :D

I've noticed it before, but that video makes it really obvious that the movie Harry Potter is modelled on John Lennon.

i have thought about this, for years

and my first instinct remains:

yoko and john loved each other.

they really did.

Even the Beatles got bored of the universal focus on the Beatles.

John and George in particular didn't believe they were the best band of all time if you read their interviews. John always rated the early rock'n'rollers much higher. He dismissed large parts of the Beatles work as 'crap', and towards the end of the 70s was thinking of re-recording some of his own songs that he thought had been 'vandalised' by the Beatles.

what does a bands own private self- doubts got to do with what people think of the music?:hmm:

i went to see yoko ono's art last year and it's fucking shite

and she had a video of her bed in with john as part of the exhibition. ffs get over it

i don't like her at all, not cos she broke up the beatles, just cos she's rubbish

I don't think she's cashing in so much as she hasn't moved on

She was really succesful in her own right before she met john

she may never move on though...it would be understandable if she didnt.

successful as what? i dont kow anything about her before she and lennon hooked up.

what did she do? dont say sing. :D

she's an artist, but she was a proffessor of art as well. she was the first woman to ever go to this really famous japanese university or something

this exhibition i went to had a sort of brief story of her life and she did a lot of impressive stuff before she married john

she was one of the pioneers of that conceptual art (which everyone hates now)

i bet thats how they met...at some art gallery.

i just know it!

i had no idea she was such a success before john though, good for her.

Yeah they met at one of her exhibitions. Apparently she didn't know who he was or had ever heard of The Beatles. Reckon that's blatant bollocks though.

I don't hate her. I don't know if I like her either. I respect her obvious strength. Can't help but think she can probably be a bit of a wanker, but then, so was Lennon.
