Bands that have had merciless merch

Back in the mid 90’s I was a huge Newman and Baddiel fan, and went to one of their shows, where they were selling fake nose, moustache and glasses combos as per their ‘people of restricted seriousness’ sketch.

I bought a pair for a fiver, even though normally they’d be a quid in a joke shop at most. I’ve still got them somewhere, and sometimes people have suggested that I throw them away, to which I’ve always protested that they’re offices Newman and Baddiel merchandise from their heyday.

They’re not though, they’re just a cheap kids joke bought in bulk and sold for hundreds of percent of markup.

Bought a Cheap Trick album years ago , no longer have it , so yes , I did like them.
 
Playing around at work yesterday I was shocked to see all the merch available on bands websites for bands that no longer exist.
Some that spring to mind are The Who, Zeppelin, Slayer, System of A Down. just why?
As an aside, I see that Alice Cooper is about to launch a range of make up.

Seeing that, was it a range of Quo beers I once saw in a pub. Either them or some other band. One or two people and bands are producing wine.
 
Incidentally, have you see the price of tee's. tees from '70s Who gigs are going for £300+. I reckon mine got slung when I outgrew them. 😓
