I’m a minimal state kinda person. Whether that’s right wing or left wing I can’t decide.

Well in the 20 years or so since I first learned about anarchism the world has gone broadly downhill, in ways predicted by anarchist thought. You no longer have to be a weirdo to believe that the western neoliberal consensus will doom us all, you now how to be a weirdo to believe otherwise.
We’re you an anarchist ?

I describe myself as "libertarian socialist" - which probably means I could be up for chucking a few bricks in the right circumstances, Im cool with sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, would like the rich squeezed until they squeak but im much happier letting the council empty my bins rather than joining a fucking refuse collection cooperative.

I don't really know what it means any more to be an anarchist (or a communist) in a time of absence of a living grassroots movement for w/c self-emancipation. Anarchism would always form a specific strain of thought within such a movement pushing in a more emancipatory and radical direction, but in the absence of such a movement so many people ended up within individualist lifestylism or posturing.

I'm an anarchist communist but have lost sight of how to connect that to meaningful political action. Probably partly because I'm middle class in terms of job (comfortable doctor).
You know things are bad when Kropotkin isn't sure about anarchist communism anymore. :(
It's a trick, the ACG tech wizards have got it set up so whenever anyone clicks on that PDF it automatically deducts £1 from their bank account.
I don’t know what an anarchist is, but I’m sure I’m not one!

I got asked the question “are you an anarchist” in crown court once.

If I said yes I was doomed. It was only the huge variety of libertarian socialist ideals and paths that gave a small protection from a perjury charge I thought.

In the end I just said NO.

I remain non aligned.
Its a sad state of affairs when a judge can't be honest about who they are in their own courtroom...

Surely: "We are communists. But our communism is not that of the authoritarian school: it is anarchist communism, communism without government, free communism. It is a synthesis of the two chief aims pursued by humanity since the dawn of its history—economic freedom and political freedom."
Yeah, but Pete didn’t have to fit it into a tweet did he?

Old school Labour broadly. Pro tax/regulation/unions. A 100% inheritance tax is about as radical as i get. Maybe a ratio of pay in any organization between highest and lowest.

Revolutionary Left though utterly depressed and cynical of anything in this country that might put itself under that umbrella. There is something of an anarchist in my idealism.

Brought up in working class poverty in the 70s despite my dad working his arse off (and getting nowhere) to change that. And by working I mean both economically and politically in trade unions. Something of what Kaka Tim said. Been lucky enough to move on to a position where I try to make a smidgeon of difference to those now stuck in abject poverty and the bad choices that can lead to. All done on shit wages, natch. That whole system can only be changed by complete overthrow, in thinking and in practice. Because different choices need to be made available to these people.

Have always believed in the violent overthrow of capitalism. There is no alternative. Would be happier with any Left or Anarchist group that doesn't slavishly repeat Daily Mail bollocks about the War on Drugs, bollocks they'd never dare repeat about anything else that comes out of that rag. But they all do it. It's a blind spot for the Left.

Curious about this. Can you expand a bit as it does not chime with my experience at all.

I have seen such from some tankies, recognise that the LP (or equivalent) line is crap but it does not match up with any modern anarchist group I know.
