French 'chic' prefers navy to black, combined with pale legs, Chanel suits (beautifully constructed but oh so boring) and red lipstick. I'm not convinced that it's something all Frenchwomen aspire to, let alone achieve, IMHO it's akin to the dress code of BCBG parisiennes (aka French Sloanes). It's a bit too slow* fashion all this denim shirts and navy. I thought chic was more classic.<snip>
i do.who the fuck wears denim shirts?
i was gonna say 'apart from b' .i do.
i do.
You don't happen to wear ballerina flats, do you?i do.
I'm not chic; I'm square.
In purple that sounds great Navy is bleh or preppy!the navy cashmere jumper is a good call but what you really need is a cashmere/silk blend navy jumper.
I don't wear much navy myself but it is chic, partly I think because it's quite safe. Purple looks very dated when it's not current. In purple that sounds great Navy is bleh or preppy!

You must have realised by now fashion and I are not close buddiesI don't wear much navy myself but it is chic, partly I think because it's quite safe. Purple looks very dated when it's not current.
I just mean that purple comes and goes in fashion. Navy is always there or thereabouts in classic labels and so is more chic. You've met me, more than once. I don't understand your 2nd sentence. Even without being a boon companion of fashion you must have noticed that some years there are more clothes available in one colour than another. If none of the 'in' colours for that season make you look good, tough. You've met me, more than once. I don't understand your 2nd sentence. How can a colour look dated? A colour just is.
