Are you chic?

I think I might be, yes. I do like jeans with stretch though, being an hour-glass shape. I do also have quite a lot of vintage stuff, and some very high-fashion clothes. Like pleather shorts! Which if I'm not mistaken Zoe Ball was wearing tonight on It Takes Two!

It's a bit too slow* fashion all this denim shirts and navy. I thought chic was more classic.

But then. What would I know?

*have I made that term up? Like not seasonal catwalk stuff but fashion editor stuff. :hmm:

you stink like a farmyard animal and your clothes are dirty. hippy.

Well, admittedly I am not into heroin yet, but on a purely aesthetic level (smell doesn't count) I am uber chic with added beer belly. None of the super models before me considered the beer belly look. None of them. It is my own uber chic thing!

French 'chic' prefers navy to black, combined with pale legs, Chanel suits (beautifully constructed but oh so boring) and red lipstick. I'm not convinced that it's something all Frenchwomen aspire to, let alone achieve, IMHO it's akin to the dress code of BCBG parisiennes (aka French Sloanes).

I don't wear much navy myself but it is chic, partly I think because it's quite safe. Purple looks very dated when it's not current.
 You've met me, more than once. I don't understand your 2nd sentence. How can a colour look dated? A colour just is. You must have realised by now fashion and I are not close buddies :)

I just mean that purple comes and goes in fashion. Navy is always there or thereabouts in classic labels and so is more chic. :D
Anyway, I'm doing mainly green, orange and dirty colours this winter so what do I know :D

Even without being a boon companion of fashion you must have noticed that some years there are more clothes available in one colour than another. If none of the 'in' colours for that season make you look good, tough.
