Apple TV+ recommendations?

I’m new to Apple so far watched S1 Ted Lasso, started S1 This Morning Show & watched a few episodes of Little America which are shorts about immigrants to America overcoming various forms of adversity.

Liked it all so far.

Silo has finally taken off and got exciting again. Looks like they’ll finish at the end of Book 1 of the trilogy - Wool. So maybe S3 and S4 will be straight adaptations of Shift and Dust, Books 2 & 3

seem to have this free as of last week cos wife has an iphone. Slow Horses is great. Also watching ted lasso - which is entertining fluff to accompany your tea.
what else is worth watching?
Is silo good ?

Silo is decent sci-fi, although with wafer thin characterisation. You’ll know if you’ll like it pretty quickly.

Bad Sisters series 1 is superb, the second…less so.

I think Severance is superb, but it is a tad divisive.

Mythic Quest seems to have flown under most people’s radars but it’s very decent. 97% RT rating as well

Not a good sign
:(

I refer to Metacritic instead.

It's not like Metacritic is completely reliable.
As is the case with so many things that are down to individual taste and preference, it doesn't at the end of the day matter what score a composite review site gives as it's all just averaged out - I'd rather go by individual reviewers who I know share similar tastes to me.

For example, I always pay attention to what T & P has to say if they make a recommendation, because over the years I've learned that we have similar tastes.

Silo S2 ended on a tantalising and very puzzling cliffhanger

And the first episode of Severance was bodacious

ETA: just Reddited the ending of Silo 2 and it's not so puzzling after all. I'd just forgotten a certain detail.

just realise that I think I need to ditch nearly all of the streaming services: Amazon Prime, Apple TV+ and Disney + are going to have to go as they are all up the new administration’s arse. Or am I being too dramatic? They aren’t much different from the likes of Audi, BMW, Siemens, Chanel etc, who all profited from the Third Reich.
Lemme finish Severance first though

I felt the same about X and Facebook and have turned them off. With Amazon and Apple, while I have concerns about their owner’s attitude to Trump and lining their pockets, the content producers are unlikely to have a similar worldview so for now I wouldn’t want to stop watching.

With Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone now in charge of Hollywood, maybe I will have to stop watching (even though in the past I have enjoyed their films).

They’re not really in charge of Hollywood. That tweet was satirical

I’m not sure the Truth or whatever he calls them was satirical but that part of my post was sarcastic and dont expect those 3 70 or 80 year-olds are going to have any bearing on what the US film industry produces in future.

I don’t think it originated from Trump himself though.

I doubt many of Trumps ideas are his ideas in the first place but he seems to be the one proposing this idea, even if it is as bonkers (if not more) than his other plans.

We know Trump is old and stuck in the past when he was querying why Gone with the wind didn’t win best picture at the Academy Awards instead of foreign films like Parasite.

He only picked those 3 old guys because he’s heard of them and he thinks they like him. I imagine Rob Schneider and Scott Baio feel overlooked.

I don't understand the point of boycotting a streaming service tbh.
Mind you I don't believe boycotts achieve much (I do avoid a few things mostly because N has some sensitivities about using certain companies while he sits on the sofa)
