Apple crumble with...

We have angel delight (actually Heavenly delight from Lidl usually) regularly and it's lovely. Marshmallows in the strawberry ones, chocolate chips in the butterscotch ones. Obviously we would never eat banana flavour ones.

miss that stuff

Strawberry one though, the butterscotch and banana flavours were rank.

No butterscotch was the best. They've fucked about with the recipe though over the years and now it turns out more runny and less mousse-like, not as good

You're making it wrong then. It should be thick with a skin on it. :) Gorgeous.

Used to like sago pudding as well. :)

Semolina was just wallpaper paste. :(

Indonesian's do an amazing 'bubur' rice porridge. All kinds of flavours, both savoury and sweet.

as for crumble, gotta be custard, but below the dessert. Not making the topping soggy.

I used to love Bird's Angel Delight when I was a sprog. The very thought of it makes me want to vom now.
Angel Delight is pretty foul now, but I used to like it as a kid.

I remember getting this powdered apple drink from what must have been a forerunner of Poundland or something when I was a teenager - it came in a box and you just added water. I loved it - tangy and full of chemicals, and disturbingly green. I'd like to try that again but have never seen it anywhere. :(

Probably classed as toxic waste these days. :(

The last time I had Angel Delight (which is a lot more recently than I care to admit), it had been made with vodka. And so much vodka at that that the texture wasn't quite as it should've been. Our French friends loved it, the rest of us were 🤢.
Reminds me of making vodka jelly. A bit hit and miss to get the consistency right, but the booze content is the most important thing.

Come on - how recently? :D
A year ago? Last week? For breakfast this morning?

I was in my 30s. And it was a friend who made it. And it was butterscotch but really it was vodka flavour. :(
