our culture is saturated with this kind of attitude and while people on the one hand scream misogyny! they still buy the records/watch the programmes/report on the people promoting it ie society is highly hypocritical

This site has large, interconnected nodes of highly gregarious people who know each other in real life (as well as assorted individuals more to the periphery), so it has more of a feel of a massive pubs with little nooks and crannies and small and big rooms than a lot of message boards. There is lots of healthy discussion that happens within the barriers set up by the unconscious hidden curriculum.

There are also a lot of people on here who are very conscientious about their values when it comes to things like misogyny and aren't likely to take well to being called hypocrites unless there is something substantial to back it up in their specific personal case.

The police visited him as a result of some videos he posted to youtube, (according to his paper) they appeared to be worried he might harm himself. Surely they should have been aware he had legally bought three handguns recently and surely that should have, alongside the videos, rung alarm bells?
