Another Malaysian airliner crashed in Ukraine

tbf defector doesnt necessarily mean they've joined the pro russian seperatiats.
What the MSM again has neglected to pick up on are the "Self Organised groups" who's existance was confirmed by Parubiy's (as if him being in charge aint enough to be setting off alarm bells) spokesman when the Ukrainian gov came under pressure for their continued bombing in Donetsk just as the malaysian delegation were arriving to collect the flight recorders.
Basically, the government has admitted that it's lost control of its fighters in the region.

So now the clusterfuck has spawned pro ukrainian seperatists too...
funny how Parry doesn't raise that possibility. Well, not really funny, its just because its not what he thinks, following his (single, unnamed) source.

So, the French are supplying warships to Russia, Naughty French - accused by Britain

In response it seems Britain is supplying hundreds of millions of pounds worth of military hardware and is benefitting from Russian Oligarks including some who contributed more than a million to Tory party funds!

This is a video about the BUK SAM system

Judging by those control panels, not so simple then.
Bit scary that the on-board computer "recommends" the 6 most dangerous targets without any human interaction except choosing from a bunch of numbered dots on the screen (6:02).

How the fuck airspace was allowed for civil A/C when it was known these things are around really is astounding.

Do you have any examples of this being done effectively in the Soviet Union?
I must confess that it was more anecdotal than anything - vague recollections of outlandish claims being made during Stalin's time. Solzhenitzen, maybe?

It seemed to be a popular stunt amongst Russians when I was doing airshow tickets, too - they'd turn up with an obviously faked one, and tell gradually less outlandish explanations, presumably in the hope of just wearing you down. And it was always the Russians :)

Propaganda was most effective (but still limited) during the Stalin era as it was a society in transition, undergoing dynamic change, although it would be a mistake to see it all based on lies. It had some 'truth' in that the authorities genuinely believed in what they were achieving by the transformation of Soviet society. The man himself, Stalin, was (perhaps disappointingly for some) consistent in private as well as public.

What you said as well about softening the masses with varying degrees of bullshit doesn't seem to have been the case, and not just from the propagandists. Look down below, at the 'obscure' masses who actually built that society at the time. When it comes to belief and an understanding of reality, you're aware of the 'anecdote' in popular Russian culture?

Going a bit off-topic I know...

If there ex ukrainians military and they have decided to take their sams and set up peoples self defence force unfortunatly the sepratists still get the blame:(

Well as the separatists aren't using ground attack aircraft or having kit airdropped in, not sure what a pro Kiev SAM would be aiming at

I would say her life was possibly in danger. Not just due to the recent events but ongoing and historical murders that Putin has possibly been involved in.

That is before you start looking at others that would like to get revenge.
Your getting that from the report citing a peaceful protest outside her home. You attributing blame to Dutch, upset by yesterday's long line of hearses giving her anonymity away:rolleyes:

Not feeling it myself. She ain't her father's keeper but if she had any tact she might want to take a discreet holiday

TBH it is a bit outlandish - for a start, why would they put a SAM system in the area of that type when it takes considerably more effort, and is considerably less capable, than just having fighters that can intercept Russian aircraft loitering over the area?

because they are in a country thats virtually skint and fighters run on very expensive fuel, and can also be shot down .And it doesnt take much effort to just park one of your 60 systems in a feild and switch it on, unlike having your fighters patrol up and down constantly .

Why would they be letting their own transport and ground attack aircraft fly in the area unprotected if they honestly thought there was a chance of air interception? More to the point, why would they let their own transport and ground attack aircraft fly in the area if they were going to put a SAM system (without any command and control facilities that could determine what it is they were firing at) there?

because they are at war and have to use those craft to attack the population on the ground. And right up to the very day this incident occured they were using their shooting down as the basis to go to the UN and insist the international community take action against Russia for shooting down its aircraft. The Thursday press conference were they claimed the rebels were incapable of shooting them down was a prelude to the case they were due to present at the UN on Friday seeking international condemnation and further sanctions against Russia. Their case on Thursday morning was very different from Thursday afternoon . So their claims of having evidence immediately afterwards need viewing with very strong scepticism.
