American anarchists meaninglessly devour themselves at Portland Conference

People saying this doesn't exist in the UK....well, several people, including myself were denounced as racist and sexist because of a disagreement over an incident that happened at Solfeds AGM the other year. Pretty nasty fallout that lead to...I think...a dozen people leaving within a week or two of the conference. The Croydon local collapsed as a result I believe and more importantly for me was a good comrade quit the organisation he helped setup. The whole thing has put me off politics for quite some time, so I can agree with the comments above about how exclusive and shit this must look to anyone beyond our movement.

The Kristian Williams piece goes over some issues I have been fumbling with for quite some time. Good piece.

Works for the Tories.

1) are you serious? You've clearly not been paying attention since Cameron became leader - the Tory right have been gunning for him pretty consistently and even in Thatcher's time there was the thing with Gilmour and the wets.

2) do you think the solution is to be more like the Tories?

The left are a complete joke with all thats going on nigel farage can get airtime and his collection of nutters ffs they hired a pakistani gangster as a spokesperson:eek::facepalm:.

1. yes - you miss the point that they - cameron, the 1922s, the wets, the eurosceptics, the lot of them - already have power. a few managed arguments when you have power is much better than hissy fits and factionalism when you have none.
2. sure
