Alternative Euro 2004: U75 Team Needed

and? you wanna make something of it rudeboy? dont know why i bothered, theres bugger all down the kings road for 'fat' ladies... still, sounds like its just as well i didnt turn up as you would have all got a bollocking for your shocking performances! ;)

this wednesday's training might be a problem. its the champions league cup final and i for one dont wanna miss it. so alternative day - erm, tomorrow it will have to be...

I can't make Weds either - Champions League final - last bit of footie action, til Euro 2004.

Far be it from me to do Rollem's job - but there was an offer of a friendly from a team in the comp - on a midweek night - I for one would be up for that.

Also, after Saturday's performances - maybe we would want to have a rethink about the starting/strongest line up - injuries aside. ;)

Wowbagger! Urban 75 needs you (if you are a half decent keeper).

I'm playing with my work team tomorrow, so cannie make it gaffer.
Why not meet earlier on Wednesday, or we can meet at half six, as usual and then go watch it in the pub close by...

i dont care. i have a paid job thats more demanding of me at the mo....

sod the paid job...

the more players we have to cover all positions the better. i am not gonna interfere with the positions as i have been told i dont know what i am doing ;) and besides, i figure you lot can read the game whilst you are playing it a lot better than i can when i am half watching from the sidelines ;)

the mid week friendly would have to be next week which may be short notice for the guys we would play against. will try and find out today the likelihood of it happening.

flimsier, can we please borrow your teams kit, as i am not gonna have time to sort out the t-shirts after all. seems the most straight forward solution... :)

only problem with making it earlier, is that it was 6.30 so everyone could make it after work.

Who told you that? I was miffed (as in my ego was battered a bit) when I was left out of the strongest line-up - but I think you're doing a great job! :) I don't think its like people don't feel like they can voice their opinions anyway!

They seem to be saying on the website that it is happening?

No problem :)

I'm happy for us to play anytime. If people can't make Weds, so be it, but anyone who can, can I suppose just try to get a game with anyone else in the park!

Who is available this week?

Who said you don't know what you are doing? I hope it wasn't me! I'm concerned about the attacking side of things i must confess. Flimsier aside, I don't think we have any decent finishers.

oi! That's well out of order Relahni, I would have given Van Basten a run for his money on Saturday morning ;)

up for it anytime.. friday nights excesses stopped me playing that blinder i was on about.. but I think it's quite clear to everyone that me playing up front is a very bad idea, I can make forward runs, but I really am a midfielder.. especially as my fitness levels are getting better, and I can be more of a nuisance (to the other side, in case you were wondering)... but that would involve a change of formation I guess, though I've no problem with being subbed :)

how about thursday then?

three guesses  :p

right then chris, no longer up front, was worth a try but you aint up to the job ;) back in midfield with ya! :D

cant do thursday - wedding to go to....

I can't do Thursday, I'm going out with people from me old work.

Next week I can play every morning, afternoon and evening... :) :D :p

I did say :p

forgot about the wedding..

we've gotta play at somepoint this week, we really do, or I'll get all stroppy.. ;)

Hmm, I know this is a bit of a bastard for you Tony, but can anyone else do tuesday?

Are you watching the final somewhere special? Could we not meet at 6 or something?

let's stick to Wednesday lads, we can start at 6/6:15 and play for an hour even, then head to watch the game (those who want to) I'm not bothered to watch it really, would rather practise with our own team.

ps: Just had my picture taken with the Webb Ellis Cup here in work, it's on display cos we sponsored the England team. The closest an irishman will ever get to it probably,

hey, just so you know, there's talk of U75 volleyball on the community forum.. so, if you like your volleyball, like me, then maybe sign up?

What about Flimsier up front - Chris F & one other behind in attacking midfield roles?

I think Flimsier is more of a midfielder but is clearly the best finisher out of us all - Chris F's next match apart - ;) :p

I'm happy to play anywhere. Think ringo deserves a place in the team though, and he'll be excellent for defending from the front.
