Album Recommendations: 2024 Edition

I'm normally sceptical of posthumous albums, as they usually seem like money-spinners for whoever inherited or bought the rights to the deceased's music.

However the final Ryuichi Sakamoto is lovely:

Is this the soundtrack to that film of his last performance?

I've got the Seefeel, but haven't listened to it yet. Today is a good day for releases, with COLD GAWD (see shoegaze thread) and Murcof:

Turns out Crack Cloud had a new album out in July:

Cindy have a new EP out in October, two tracks up now:

Went to End of The Road and spent a nice hour chilling to the very nice country rock sounds of Brown Horse. Checked out their album this afternoon and liked it muchly.

Google Earth - Street View. One of the most interesting things I've heard recently (all year, actually) is this collab between John Vanderslice and James Riotto - it's sort of electro-pop-jazz-tronica and I like it more each time I hear it. Available on Youtube or on bandcamp where you can pay what you like for it.

New one from Colin Stetson out today - "The Love It Took To Leave You"

Also one out from Party Dozen. They're playing London in Nov which I'm tempted to go to, with support from Water Damage who had one out earlier this year of long droney, sludgey kraut-noise-rock tracks, I rather like.
