I read the article that Joe Chi Min linked to. There was an impressive amount of detail and lots of diagrams of child abductee movements county to county. On reflection, it came across as a largely uncritical account of how the police are indeed "doing something", and the article felt like the work of someone "embedded" among the police. It almost felt like there was no curiosity as to the mechanics of how so many young people are taken, and an underlying sense of , what, affirmation? That "they" end up in criminal groups of "their" communities.
