Your favourite trash telly

There's a program on the Food Network that is some big New York chain owning guy going into other restaurants and doing a Gordon Ramsey on them - but focussed on service rather than food. It's completely made up, but quite fun.

Restaurant Stakeout. That guy's a joke, and US labour laws are terrifying.

Project Runway. I have zero interest in fashion and constantly have to ask my other half some of the jargon but I appreciate the technical aptitude of the contestants and the fact that actually have to produce something. Always shock myself when I have a semi coherent opinion on why a garment works, or not!

Tipping Point with Ben Sheppard (who started out on the shitty morning progGMTV)
The Chase with Bradley Walsh (lovable cockney sort)
Eggheads (hardly anyone ever wins)

they brought back 15-to-1 but I have no truck with it since they fucked with the tried and tested, simple formula.

There's increasingly less and less on I want to watch these days. Back in the 90s I'd gorge on stuff like The Word, Gladiators, Turnabout with Rob Curling, Catchphrase, Countdown, Neighbours, Enders, Brookie, Corrie, Top Of The pops, pretty much most stuff on Channel 4 on Fri/Sat nights. Plus loads of the ITV Nightscreen music shows.

These days, its mainly just Corrie. Though I also quite enjoy Gypsy Weddings and Maury. Property shows just piss me off. Watching people wirh more money than I'll ever have debate on which house they can afford with 400 grand budget. No.

Forgot to mention cooking shows ruining everything that was great about weekend TV in the mornings. Whatever happened to wacky live kids shows with the latest pop bands doing a number, live phone ins with slebs, and gunge tank games? Now its all Sunday Brunch with Tim fucking Lovejoy and re-runs of Keith Floyd getting sloshed. Who's idea was that?

rick steins bits are fucking hilarious. I only watch him cos he is the seafood daddy and I love that shit.

but when he wanders off the topic of food, jesus. Last week I woke up for a slash, stumbled in to the bog and my ears hear him on ma's TV basically excusing the viscous excesses of the ottoman imperial dynasties.

New family favourite is 'Dude you're screwed!' A survival show where one of about 7 survival experts are kidnapped and dropped in different environments and they have to make it to civilisation.

Anyone watching friend zone on MTV?

I love it. It's a 20 minute burst of emotion. Perfect cathartic PMT TV*. Basically someone with a crush on their mate tries to escape the friend zone by confessing. Their friend thinks they're their coach on a show called Dream Date and gets them all prepped for the date and then they say, "er actually, I've been lying. This date is for you. I've been perving on you for years but I value our friendship". And then they either go on the date or it's totes awkward, or both.

*PMT TV should totally be a channel.

That sounds amazing wfty

I was woken up by my son at 5.30 - he is now asleep in my bed, along with my husband and daughter, so I'm lying on the sofa under a duvet watching Say Yes To The Dress.

I'm dog sitting in a house with full fat Sky TV and I have discovered Gypsy Brides US

Im going to have to go cold turkey when I go home

Recently I've got fed up with netflix and the feeling I should always be binge watching some acclaimed drama. I don't want to have to pay attention all the time. Got the channel 4 app on the go, some good shit on there. We've been watching embarrassing bodies and first dates. The undateables is decent too.

Not sure whether to dive into strictly and bake off because everyone talks about them, but I'm contemplating it.

I haven't seen gypsy brides (or any of the bride related oeuvre) but I quite fancy the one where the husband arranges the whole wedding and it's a surprise for the bride. It's in my to watch list. I am certain hilarity will ensure.

Watched three days straight of Maine Cabin Masters over the Christmas break. In my defense, at least it wasn't the 20 different QVC, or QVC-esque channels, which were the only other channels available. I've also been known to binge watch Tiny House Nation.
