Pickford
TAA --- Stones --- Maguire --- Chilwell
Rice
Henderson ------------------
----------------‐------- Mount
Grealish ----------- Kane -------------- Sterling

Henderson / Johnstone; Walker, Coady, Mings, Shaw; Phillips; Ward-Prowse, Maddison; Foden, Rashford, Sancho
+ Lingard, Sako and Calvert-Lewin to make up the final 26.

That would be my choice, but we all know the squad will have at least a couple more right backs (Trippier, James) in it.

I'd certainly play Rashford ahead of Grealish.
I ummed and aahed over those two. Depends on the opposition, whether craft or pace would be the bigger asset, they're both class players even if Rashford is about 10 x the human being.

I dont pay that much attention to other teams at the moment, but Luke Shaw at left back really caught my eye. I dont know how consistent he is but I like the cut of his jib

I've no idea because I haven't watched any top flight football since it left terrestrial TV. I'm assuming everyone posting on this thread is minted and subscribes to Sky or BT sport.

I just watch the free YouTube highlights. Never given a penny to Sky and don't subscribe to BT Sport either.

Live, premier league football has been on terrestrial TV this year.

ha me too. you knew where you were with Hoddle and Waddle

There's still time for Watkins to grow a mullet.

Given how many RBs there are, might he repeat the trick from the WC and play a back three with two of them in the starting XI (Trippier outside Walker three years ago)?

Weird how some people on this thread are calling for Trent Alexander-Arnold when he's always been very average for England and is probably the worst performing right back this season out of the four selected. Trippier has just won La Liga in one of Europe's best defensive units, Kyle Walker has just won the league. TAA appears to have been garbage for at least half tbe season from what I can tell.

There is a case for that, since Stones and Maguire are good but not exactly quick. Walker as a 3rd centre back offers that recovery pace which lets us play a slightly higher defensive line and reduce the gaps between midfield and forwards.

TAA has had a less than stellar season, but at his best he's at least decent defending and a threat going forward like playing an extra winger. In a flat 4 Trippier is a good option, but outside a 3 (or if Rice is deliberately deep dropping in to make a back 3 in possession) then i'd have him last of the 4.
