Your daily cat and kitten news

I had a cat who loved my mohair jumper and would drag it around the house. I knitted a mohair square for her, and that suited her needs much better (she could drag it around without tripping over it) and she never bothered my mohair again.

It’s the only thing I’ve ever knitted.

Pica in cats is a bit different than that, and providing a square of knitted fabric would probably result in surgery to have it (or at least large chunks of it) removed from the cat's digestive system.

Sonic was an utter menace - I think I have told the tale of the time I gave him a toy made of a strip of rabbit leather with long floofy fur, dyed all colours of the rainbow with vegetable dyes.
It lasted about a minute, and the only evidence for what had happened was a completely bare strip of leather, a rainbow coloured furball, and Sonic looking slightly guilty!

I had to be careful to keep certain things away from him in case he tried to eat them (usually on the basis of texture).
