My boiler doesn't work....I'm not in the UK at the moment, but imagine I'll have snow to greet me and a freezing flat when I get back.
When I lived in the UK that's what we did. Set it to 18° or there abouts, and let it do its thing. We did a similar thing with the a/c, set it to 25°, I think. An integrated automatic system would have been better. We leave it on all year round and let it decide, it's pretty good. It's started to come on in the morning and late evenings in the past week or so. It's still on now ('m sat by the radiator) which is the longest it has stayed on so far.
Basically I voted yes because it's always "on". Whether it's actually fired up the boiler to warm the radiators is a mystery to me. I suspect not, living in a concrete maisonette. It takes a while for all the heat to leak out.I let the thermostat make these decisions for me.
Go out and shoot some, the fuckers are hardly an endangered speciesNot yet. I'm waiting for a delivery of seagulls to chuck in the wood burner.
We have a summer duvet 10tog on Mrs Q's side and 4.5 tog on mine which we're still using. We have a 13.5 tog in the attic which I get out when we get into the deeps of winter.I'm going to dig out my winter quilt and pyjamas.
I have invested in a heated airer and it's already showing its worth.
Did consider putting the heating on today but it's September so on principle went for some winter pyjamas and socks with slippers.
This entire post comes to you from middle age.
In September? Are you mad?We turned the heating on last night.
Probably, but we were both feeling very chilly last nightIn September? Are you mad?
I find a liberal spraying of deep heat works wonders to avoid the need for heating.Probably, but we were both feeling very chilly last night
Unfortunately, we haven't got any deep heat. It would have been very welcome, as I have stiff shoulder and neck muscles at the mo'I find a liberal spraying of deep heat works wonders to avoid the need for heating.
