Is so vanilla
Are you loyal to a particular brand of trainers or sneakers? If so, what is it about that brand that speaks to you? Or what do you think wearing those sneakers or trainers says about you or what do you think it indicates to others?

Or do you have a few different pairs from a variety of brands?

Do you look for the shoe first, or the brand?

Have your loyalties changed over the years, or is trainer tribalism a bit like supporting a football club and you stick with it?

Vans and/or New Balance for the last ten years or so.

Used to be Nike Air Max for a few years before that, and purely Etnies/DC Shoe Company while at university.

I was always into punk/skater fashion as a teen and young adult, which meant going for skater shoes. Not sure why I swapped to Nikes for a while, but now back on the skate shoe wagon again, albeit I normally go for the slightly smarter models and don't wear them until they're battered to fuck anymore. I'll probably stick to Vans and New Balance for a good few years yet, as they're comfy and look good.

Loyal to nobody.

I'll wear whichever looks the least gash to most comfort at a fair price (which I consider to be under £50). These days New Balance seem to have the best range of style, comfort and affordability. I don't mind who the brand is though as long as they don't look whack and they feel good.

Currently my most comfortable trainers are Gola which I bought in TK Maxx. They're simple, wide, grey/white, with blue trim, and have no garish logo. in fact they're so comfortable I tracked down the only other new pair I could find on eBay and I'm wearing them today.

Cost: £20.

New Balance and Etnies. Not out of loyalty but rather having found something that I know fits I can then keep buying it online until it’s discontinued. Cant be bothered trying shoes in shops and thinking they seem quite nice and then buying them but regretting it a month later.

Traditionally Converse, although I'm leaning towards Vans these days. I went through a long Nike stage in my 20s, but I don't think I have any at the moment (I occasionally covet some OG Air Jordans, but never enough to actually buy them).

I run in Salomons, play tennis in Reeboks, and own Pumas & Adidas. Also have pairs of Norman Walsh trainers from Bolton, which I think may be my go-to guys in future.

Loyal to no brand, I tend to go the shop find a pair that fit me and are comfortable. My current pair are Slazengers but I had to go and check I didn't know that without looking, I also have a pair of Avenue brand from Aldi's which are both comfortable and cheap.

I'm currently rocking the Tropicfeel Monsoons (in All Black). Most comfortable trainer I've ever worn, can go in and out of water in them - they dry almost instantly, really grippy soles, never smell, look ok down the pub, sprint laces are handy, and made from recycled bottles, all for under £100!

Got two pairs of identical trainers which are Merrell - only bought them because they were cheap at the time and had plenty of mesh to keep my feet cool. I don't go running or do any of the exercise nonsense, so they're just for wearing generally.

Was thinking smells when I posted. First thing that kills my kicks for me but honestly to bone idle to get inners

Always curious about how comfy these are - anyone tried them?

Converse and Superga.
I have around 7 pairs of Converse and 3 Superga. Love them both. Black, white, blue leather, pink.

Adidas. Currently 8 pairs. Have had others in the last couple of decades including so.e lovely brown suede Pumas but it's always Adidas for me.

When it's new trainers time it's Adidas I look for first, then which style.

They look good and wear well

Adidas for casual wear. But that's coincidence, I just liked the look of them, while browsing for shoes.

All sorts of other brands for running. I'm not loyal.

I was just thinking recently, how is it that I have ended up with no trainers at all? It is a bit tricky getting shoes at all because I have size 13 feet, but I used to have trainers usually.

I have three pairs of black lace-up shoes, and two pairs of quite worn deck shoes and at the moment that is it.

Keen, Meindl & Merrell used for work, casual, walking or running I find these brands the most comfortable.
I reckon about 10 pairs at the mo, all used regularly. Worried about the Merrell's as they are my running shoes and
are starting to look a bit worn and i am not going to shops at the mo so can't replace them.

Actual sports trainers I don't care about the brand. I think the current ones are Asics but not sure. Casual trainers I just buy adidas. I like the look of the Puma ones but the few pais I brought were of poor quality and didn't last long. Adidas last much longer.

Whatever is waterproof under 60 or 70 quid at an outdoor shop.

Not Peter Storm or Mountain Warehouse though because the quality of those has gone down the toilet.

Converse with brief flirtations with Adidas (shell toe natch). I’m still gutted the dog ate my limited edition Adidas x Rita Ora rainbow trainers I got when I was in theStates. They were my faves :(

I’ve been through several phases. Nike in my youth but occasionally others like Diadora. Vans mostly in my twenties. In my thirties I don’t think I wore trainers much at all and now it’s Adidas. Currently have a pair of white Samba.

Interesting fact: Adidas was originally two brothers who fell out and one of them continued Adidas whilst the other started Puma and a bitter rivalry ensued.
