What shoes do you wear in summer & are they comfy?

I'm sick to death of spending money on shoes that kill my feet. Most of the year it's fine as I have smart, comfy boots I can wear for work but I really struggle in the summer. I can't really wear sandals that show my toes and I hate my toes anyway and can't be bothered to keep them nice with varnish etc. I've bought 4 pairs of summer shoes in the last month or so and they all leave me in agony by the end of the day.

So just wondering what summer shoes people wear that they can recommend, that are smart-ish, hide your toes and most of all are comfortable for walking in. A bit of a wedge would also be good as I need a bit of help in the height area!

I've bought some cheap shoes online with mixed results. I too hate spending money on shoes I never wear because they hide their true nature until you've worn them a few times. I will be ordering more of these:

Hot-sale Hollow Out Leather Breathable Casual Slip On Moccasin For Women - NewChic

Exceedingly comfortable but probably won't last the summer especially as I'm wearing them 3 or 4 times a week. I normally order size 5 (38) to accommodate my wide feet. Their size 38/4.5 is a fab fit for width and length for me so you might need to size up. The first couple of times I wore them I could feel a couple of the seams at the crossed bit but then they were fine.

They are really cute and nice colours too.

I am really tempted by the orange ones and the black... :hmm:

I've seen different colours on different sites too. They are not great quality but you stand to lose very little if you don't like them or they fall apart after a couple of months. Better than wasting 60 quid on something you don't wear.

At the moment I'm still wearing loafers. Soon I'll use my driving shoes outside of work. Both are very comfy but the driving shoes are lighter weight and better suited to the heat.

I've got some soft leather Mary Janes from Clarks that are v comfy so I bought several pairs over the last few years when they were doing them in different colour ways.

They're comfy enough to wear without socks, and smart enough for work, but they're so flat that I get pains in my heels.

Got some pricey Vivo Barefoot efforts that are very good. See they do ankle boots now too but not tried those.

The same thing I wear for the rest of the year....

I have this problem too - all my sandals are uncomfortable. I hate showing my toes, but this weekend I wore flipflops out, and nobody ran away screaming, so I figured they can't have looked that bad.

I am seriously considering wearing socks with my sandals.

Pretty much all shoes except trainers and trainer type boots seem to wreck my feet. Today I've been wearing espadrille wedges. They look nice but I've been in agony. I have blisters on my heels, where the straps go across my feet, above my toes..pretty much everywhere. The other day I wore some mary jane type flat shoes & I got blisters and my heels ached. I get blisters between my toes with flipflops and my feet go red and blotchy with the effort of carrying the stupid flipflops around every time I lift a foot to walk a step. It drives me insane.
I've now put socks on with my espadrilles. It looks ridiculous but I don't care anymore!

Could and often do walk miles in flip flops, just as well as most 'summer shoes' blister me somewhere. Accompanied a friend to a podiatrist , whilst wearing flip flops and was sternly told they are the worst design ever :hmm:
I obviously paid no attention. Tend to go from boots to flip flops .

They are supposedly not good for your feet, but then I am sure crushing my little toes into shoes that are too narrow isn't either.

I've got my birkenstock sandals that have been my summer stalwarts for years. Love them.
But work has gone a bit weird about open for sandals...even in 28 degree heat.
