What overpriced Artisan Foodstuff have you bought today?

I no longer understand the concept of farmer’s markets as they exist in the U.K. All the weekly markets here have sections where local producers sell.

One stall I especially like sells her own oranges, avocados, tomatoes, etc. Her prices are pretty much the same as the shops, many of which also sell their own produced produce.

I shall miss this if we go back to live.

Locally produced honey has gone way up in price in recent years tbf, even in the supermarket - the only stuff that's affordable is from China.

This is the big disconnect for people buying fresh food in the UK. Most of the farmers markets that now operate are not like those that operate in continental Europe.
I used to love going around the markets around Torrevieja when my folks lived out there.

We are considering moving there. It's a nice area.

Yes my folks enjoyed it up in the Los Altos area. They had a local shop up the street, a superstore a short drive away, local bus service and the Hospital was only 1.5 miles away. They had registered with the local council and had the free bus passes so hardly used the car if they wanted to go into town.

There's a stall in the farmers market in Wells selling home made cakes - I'd never liked the sound of carrot cake, therefore, I DIDN'T LIKE carrot cake

Mrs Voltz bought some and persuaded me to try it - I now like carrot cake
