Six in the morning don’t want to wake
Sun laying low and the world sleeping late
Hate like the river runs heavy and deep
Oh I wish that they’d sack me and leave me to sleep

Five days from seven the week’s hardly mine
The alarm clock’s gone over to enemy lines
Waste my time working for cowards and creeps
Oh I wish that they’d sack me and leave me to sleep

Rain strikes the window heralds the day
Rain won’t you wash these eight hours away?
Rain feeds the river runs heavy and deep
Oh I wish that they’d sack me and leave me to sleep

Birds on the windowsill sing in the dawn
By the time that I’m home all this day will be gone
Spend my life sowing what others will reap
Oh I wish that they’d sack me and leave me to sleep

Rain strikes the window heralds the day
Rain won’t you wash these eight hours away?
Rain feeds the river runs heavy and deep
Oh I wish that they’d sack me and leave me to sleep.

If you`re picking up a pen, imagining a sword
If you think I`d never flown to the heights at which you soared
Picking up a pen, its like picking up a spade
To plant or sow a seed, or digging your own grave
I`m made from stardust
Like a planetary sun
Same DNA as stardust
Like an elephants trunk
Is a snorkel full of water
Picking up a pen, imagining a sword
If you think I`d never flown to the heights to which you soared
Picking up a pen, its like picking up a spade
It`s a planet so it seems, or digging your own grave
I`m made from stardust
Like a planetary sun
Same DNA as stardust
Like an elephants trunk
Is a snorkel full of water
Is a snorkel full of water
Who`ll feed the young `cause they`re starving
In this beautiful world that you marvel in
Who`d feed the young `cause they`re hungry
In this beautiful world in that you live in for free
Same DNA as stardust, carbonated to less
Same DNA as stardust, from a time that has passed
I`m made from stardust
Same DNA as stardust

Underneath the wheels
well water steals

We are united by trickery
akin low lion swell

Underneath the heel
read by everyone
you are in your ear
if you brought light
so many times before you're done

I was invited
her spirit spilled the shell
she keeps me well
she keeps me well

Here they come again
here come the singing birds
circling round the incident
we circle round the birds

We are united by injury
in your tree, up the hill
who keeps you well?
who keeps you well?

To know know know him
Is to love love love him
Just to see that smile
Makes my life worthwhile
To know know know him
Is to love love love him
And I do, and I do, and I do

Oh, I'll be good to him
I'll bring joy to him
Everyone says there'll come a day
When I'll walk alongside of him
To know know know him
Is to love love love him
And I do, I really do, and I do

Why can't he see
How blind can he be
Someday he'll see
That he was meant for me

To know know know him
Is to love love love him
Just to see that smile
Makes my life worthwhile
To know know know him
Is to love love love him
And I do, I really do, and I do

Brothers and sisters I have a confession to make this evening. I been a fool, I been hanging out on street corners with whores and junkies - living mah life low. But lately a little bit of light has come into mah life and that light be the light of love; D. W.A.Y.N.E. LOVE nand he be a man with a 12-step plan and he gonna show youhow to do it.

Step One
You admit you are powerless under me
Step Two
You figure that's just gotta be jelly cos jam just don't shake like that
Step Three
Make a searching inventory of all your good shit
Step Four
Inventory taken, you hand all that good shit over to me
Step Five
Having divined I am the real thing you get down on your knees
Step Six
....and humbly ask me to remove your underthings
Step Seven
And make ready for me to do mah thing
Step Eight
Naked now you're ready to understand mah kind of lovin'
Step Nine
Lovin men ,lovin women ,lovin all God's creatures
Step Ten
And in turn you're divestments having been completed
Step Eleven
Ah get turned on by you,and in turn being turned on by you
Step Twelve
I know you're ready to become a disci disciple,a lonely little reverend
Making his way day by day,in the congregation
Hustling a dollar here, a dollar there, selling pictures of The King
To bring back to the coffers of the all powerful all holy Reverend Doctor D.W.A.Y.N.E
Love first Reverend of The First Presleytarian Church Of Elvis The Divine.

If you see me standing on the corner, money in mah hand
I ain't waiting for no taxi honey, I'm waiting for mah man
He aint selling heroin, he aint selling crack cocaine
He got enough of that stuff gonna me you up to
A higher plane

Shoot me up
In the mainline
Shoot me up
You know I feel fine
Shoot me up
Every damn day
With a hypo full of love
With a hypo full of love
Shoot me up
Deep down inside
Shoot me up
You know you can't hide
Shoot me taxi honey, I'm waiting for mah man
He aint selling heroin, he aint selling crack cocaine
He got enough of that stuff gonna move
33 minutes down till you lose the misery

Hey baby there's no need to go under, just ring
D.Wayne's number up and you be feeling free
D.Wayne is on the mainline, tell him what you want
Just call him up and tell him what you want
If your sick and you wanna get well, tell him what you want
Just call him up and tell him what you want.

From brother D. Wayne
With a hypo full of love
An a hypo full of love

Your monkey's messing with bad medicine
He be down with the Jones
Sweating, Shaking, bodies aching
Badly feel the fever in your bones
T-t-t-tripping out you starta count

Nothing ever seems to make you happy
Are you miserable babe
or are you just plain mean?

Is there no joy in you?
Well come on, don't keep me waiting
Your broken heart might bring you heaven - to heaven
but it will not bring you another morning,
another morning with Kathleen

Someone does you wrong you give away your whole life to prove it
You wear your pain with pride, you refuse to remove it
You become the evil that plays with you like a doll
Big rules only make our lives small

Was your voice never heard?
Well come on, you know we’re all listening
Justice will only bring you a prison - a prison
And it will not bring you another morning,
another morning with Kathleen

Now you’re the big expert with the truth
Now you’re all apple pie and you’re bulletproof
There must have been a short 5 minutes somewhere in your youth
But when you laughed like water breaking over the broken land
When you laughed like the wind burning the sun blind on your face
When you laughed like water breaking over the broken dam
When you laughed like the starting gun at the start of a race
I wanna smash the violins at the symphony
I wanna see you smile with a real simple melody
It's when you wake up and you're glad that you're breathing
It's when you wake up and you're glad that you're living
Well, that’s another morning
another morning with Kathleen.

I was riding on the Mayflower
When I thought I spied some land
I yelled for Captain Arab
I have yuh understand
Who came running to the deck
Said, "Boys, forget the whale
Look on over yonder
Cut the engines
Change the sail
Haul on the bowline"
We sang that melody
Like all tough sailors do
When they are far away at sea

"I think I'll call it America"
I said as we hit land
I took a deep breath
I fell down, I could not stand
Captain Arab he started
Writing up some deeds
He said, "Let's set up a fort
And start buying the place with beads"
Just then this cop comes down the street
Crazy as a loon
He throw us all in jail
For carryin' harpoons

Ah me I busted out
Don't even ask me how
I went to get some help
I walked by a Guernsey cow
Who directed me down
To the Bowery slums
Where people carried signs around
Saying, "Ban the bums"
I jumped right into line
Sayin', "I hope that I'm not late"
When I realized I hadn't eaten
For five days straight

I went into a restaurant
Lookin' for the cook
I told them I was the editor
Of a famous etiquette book
The waitress he was handsome
He wore a powder blue cape
I ordered some suzette, I said
"Could you please make that crepe"
Just then the whole kitchen exploded
From boilin' fat
Food was flying everywhere
And I left without my hat

Now, I didn't mean to be nosy
But I went into a bank
To get some bail for Arab
And all the boys back in the tank
They asked me for some collateral
And I pulled down my pants
They threw me in the alley
When up comes this girl from France
Who invited me to her house
I went, but she had a friend
Who knocked me out
And robbed my boots
And I was on the street again

Well, I rapped upon a house
With the U.S. flag upon display
I said, "Could you help me out
I got some friends down the way"
The man says, "Get out of here
I'll tear you limb from limb"
I said, "You know they refused Jesus, too"
He said, "You're not Him
Get out of here before I break your bones
I ain't your pop"
I decided to have him arrested
And I went looking for a cop

I ran right outside
And I hopped inside a cab
I went out the other door
This Englishman said, "Fab"
As he saw me leap a hot dog stand
And a chariot that stood
Parked across from a building
Advertising brotherhood
I ran right through the front door
Like a hobo sailor does
But it was just a funeral parlor
And the man asked me who I was

I repeated that my friends
Were all in jail, with a sigh
He gave me his card
He said, "Call me if they die"
I shook his hand and said goodbye
Ran out to the street
When a bowling ball came down the road
And knocked me off my feet
A pay phone was ringing
It just about blew my mind
When I picked it up and said hello
This foot came through the line

Well, by this time I was fed up
At tryin' to make a stab
At bringin' back any help
For my friends and Captain Arab
I decided to flip a coin
Like either heads or tails
Would let me know if I should go
Back to ship or back to jail
So I hocked my sailor suit
And I got a coin to flip
It came up tails
It rhymed with sails
So I made it back to the ship

Well, I got back and took
The parkin' ticket off the mast
I was ripping it to shreds
When this coastguard boat went past
They asked me my name
And I said, "Captain Kidd"
They believed me but
They wanted to know
What exactly that I did
I said for the Pope of Eruke
I was employed
They let me go right away
They were very paranoid

Well, the last I heard of Arab
He was stuck on a whale
That was married to the deputy
Sheriff of the jail
But the funniest thing was
When I was leavin' the bay
I saw three ships a-sailin'
They were all heading my way
I asked the captain what his name was
And how come he didn't drive a truck
He said his name was Columbus
I just said, "Good luck."

On returning, I can't believe this world is still turning, The pressure's on,
Because the pleasure hasn't gone
And I'm, Not sorry for, For the things I've done
And I'm, Not looking for, Just anyone

On competing, Oh, when will this tired heart stop beating?, It's all a game,
Existence is only a game
And I'm, Not sorry for, For the things I've done
And I'm, Not looking for, Just anyone

I'm, Slipping below the water line, I'm, Slipping below the water line
Reach for my hand, And, And the race is won
Reject my hand, And, The damage is done

I'm, Slipping below the water line
I'm, Slipping below the water line

The woman of my dreams, She, She never came along
The woman of my dreams, Well, There never was one

And I'm, Not sorry for, For the things I've said
There's a wild man in my head, There's a wild man In my head

There's a window out there
Number seventeen
There's a wind out there
Blowing blustery

There's a semi out there
A semi-strange occurance
Where the tyre tracks disappear
It's there to remind you
It's there to remind me
That the find is free
That the find is free

Forget all about cash
And best to forget about wires
Now don't go getting yourself in a rash
You'd better forget about your aspires

We're in the middle of nowhere
Way out in the great beyond
Flying around the sun
Flying around the sun

One cold damp evening
The world stood still
I watched as I held my breath
A silhouette I thought I knew
Came through
And someone spoke to me
Whispered in my ear
This fantasy's for you
Fantasies are "in" this year

My whole life passed before my eyes
I thought
What they say is true
I shed my skin and my disguise
And cold, numb and naked
I emerged from my cocoon
And a half remembered tune
Played softly in my head

Then he turned smiling
And said
I realise a miracle is due
I dedicate this melody to you
But is this the stuff dreams are made of?
If this is the stuff dreams are made of
No wonder I feel like I'm floating on air
Everywhere
It feels like I'm everywhere

It's like you fail to make the connection
You know how vital it is
Or when something slips through your fingers
You know how precious it is
Well you reach the point where you know
It's only your second skin

Someone's banging on my door

it needs more cowbelllllllllll  :D

If the walls in the room could talk
I wonder to myself would they lie
It's like some kind of jail beams of light
Fall through the curtains onto the bed
I'm all alone now, I can do as I please
I don't feel like doing much of anything
True love ain't that hard to find
Not that you will ever know
Would you lay here for awhile?
Please, do not let me go
Please, do not let me go

You were sweet enough to sing,
Oblivious to melody
Red suitcase full of clothes
Washed up on a shore of memory
I'm all alone now and I feel just fine
I don't feel much like doing anything
True love ain't that hard to find
Not that either one of us will ever know
Would you lay here for awhile?
Please, do not let me go

eh? ^^, i do not remember that, its a good name though so its OK...anyway...

When I lost you honey sometimes I think I lost my guts too
And I wish God would send me a word
send me something I'm afraid to lose
Lying in the heat of the night like prisoners all our lives
I get shivers down my spine and all I wanna do is hold you tight

I swear I'll drive all night just to buy you some shoes
And to taste your tender charms
And I just wanna sleep tonight again in your arms

Tonight there's fallen angels and they're waiting for us down in the street
Tonight there's calling strangers,
hear them crying in defeat.
Let them go, let them go, let them go,
do their dances of the dead (let'em go right ahead girl)
You just dry your eyes girl, and c'mon c'mon
c'mon let's go to bed, baby, baby, baby

There's machines and there's fire waiting on the edge of town
They're out there for hire but baby they can't hurt us now
Cause you've got, you've got, you've got,
you've got my love, you've got my love
Through the wind, through the rain, the snow, the wind, the rain
You've got, you've got my, my love

i f'kin love that song. :)

Haha, thank you, I do happen to love that book, kudos for noticing it :) Lol, I'm not the person you're looking for.

Mary be so proud, things that aren't allowed,
To take your own life, stab it with a knife.
They put you in a box, send you up to heaven, heaven.

Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Give me money, give me sex,
Give me food and cigarettes.
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
(What should we do if baby turns blue)

You broke my heart, it came in two.
The faculties of a broken heart.
I go out on Monday, looking for a Tuesday.
Nothing ever makes much sense.
You don't seem to make much sense.
Shooting out in someone's dream.
Shooting out in something else.

It was an accident, I didn't mean it.
It was an accident, I didn't mean it.

Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
(What should we do if baby turns blue?)

John had a bomb and he lit it in his head,
Went to bed for seventeen weeks,
Took too many drugs, now he don't eat.
They put you in a box and send you up to heaven, heaven.

Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Give me money, give me sex,
Give me food and cigarettes.
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
Oh what to do, not to feel and who are you?
What should we do if baby turns blue?

Time takes its crazy toll
and how does your mirror grow
you better watch yourself when you jump into it
'cause the mirror's gonna steal your soul

I wonder how it came to be my friend
that someone just like you has come again
you'll never, never know how close you came
until you fall in love with the diamond rain

throw all his trash away
look out he's here to stay
your mirror's gonna crack when he breaks into it
and you'll never never be the same

look into his eyes and you can see
why all the little kids are dressed in dreams
I wonder how he's gonna make it back
when he sees that you just know it's make-belief

blood crystalized as sand
and now I hope you'll understand
you reflected into his looking glass soul
and now the mirror is your only friend

look into his eyes and you will see
that men are not alone on the diamond sea
sail into the heart of the lonely storm
and tell her that you'll love her eternally

time takes its crazy toll
mirror fallin' off the wall
you better look out for the looking glass girl
'cause she's gonna take you for a fall

look into his eyes and you shall see
why everything is quiet and nothing's free
I wonder how he's gonna make her smile
when love is running wild on the diamond sea

Don't wanna know why you like me I don't care
Don't wanna know why I walk by and you stare
Don't wanna know why just to wanna know why
Don't wanna know why just to wanna know why

When I... breathe in, breathe out.
Carry on, carry out.
Try to... drive through your life
Breathe in, breathe out.
Carry on, carry out.
Try to... never say goodbye

Don't wanna know how you're feeling I don't care
Don't wanna know when you'll meet me I'm not there
Don't wanna know why just to wanna know why
Don't wanna know why just to wanna know why

When I... breathe in, breathe out.
Carry on, carry out.
Try to... drive through your life
Breathe in, breathe out.
Carry on, carry out.
Try to... never say goodbye

I wish I knew
How to tell you
How to tell me why

Eyes to take you dancing
mouth to leave your wife
Legs to run away with
and you wonder why?

Heart that makes you bypass
every other girl
Smile that keeps you grinning
at the madness of this world

But like the blackbird on the wire
I will not take the prey on you
You wouldn't want me to
For I am too soft for such a thing
And like the blackbird on the wire
I just watch you by
The tears I knew I'd cry
Fall unnoticed down below

Front to make you happy
back to make you weep
Lips to keep you kissing
whilst everyone's asleep

Tears to break a backbone
laughs to win a war
And people come and ask me
what I love you for

But like the blackbird on the wire
I will not take the prey on you
You wouldn't want me to
For I am too soft for such a thing
And like the blackbird on the wire
I just watch you by
The tears I knew I'd cry
Fall unnoticed down below

And with a tongue built from quicksilver
and a character of steel
They actually come and ask me
How I feel

But like the blackbird on the wire
I will not take the prey on you
You wouldn't want me to
For I am too soft for such a thing
And like the blackbird on the wire
I just watch you by
The tears I knew I'd cry
Fall unnoticed down below

If you don`t know where I come from
You better stear clear of my trail
From the dark side of London
And that`s way beyond the pale
Grandpa came from Russia
Stowed away hidden in some bales
And he took my Grandma dancing
To the air raid sirens wail

Saint George used his sword
On the immigrant poor

`Cos he can`t kill no dragon
If I was in those shoes
I`d say Soweto`s gonna happen here too
I gotta get a message through
Tell everybody the news
& with the winter coming...

Crossing all the borders
Through the smoke of war and rain
Papers out of order
On a military train
A coat, a bag, a baby
Status: refugee
These are the people of my family

Don`t anybody know that
This city was made
Of immigrant blood & money
If I was in those shoes
A blackshirt with the playboy blues
I gotta get a message through
Tell everybody the news
And with the winter coming...

Now there`s a rocker in Vladivostok
Got every side by Jerry Lee
But for accidents of disorder
That guy could well be me
I want everybody to know this
I want everyone to hear
Immigration built the nation
You got a bloodclaat standing here

Saint George used his sword
On the immigrant poor
`Cos he can`t kill no dragon
If I was in those shoes
I`d say Soweto`s gonna happen here too
I gotta get a message through
Tell everybody the news

And with the winter coming...

Don`t anybody know that
The city was made
Of immigrant blood and money
If I was in those shoes
A blackshirt with the playboy blues
I gotta get a message through
Tell everybody the news

And with the winter coming..

"Goodmorning Sodom and Gomorrah
Goodmorning sinners
No that wasn't your radio set on the blink again"

Sodom and Gomorrah
Let the DJ play
`Cos I`m only gone tomorrow and here today

Lotta rockheads on the block
Dougie died and Sue got frocked
If the stove is hot then I ain't lost
& Rosa says my star is crossed
Little Jamie writes 'V. Thirteen'
Comes in by the door goes out by screen
He don`t listen to me he knows everything
Girls on the avenue ask me to sing

Sodom and Gomorrah
Let the DJ play
`Cos I`m only gone tomorrow and here today

The paper drags and folds me down
Like a paper cup I fly around
I`ve been eating food that ain`t been checked
And the Russian rain is beating down my neck
Screen blackout on the southern war
Cue talk breakdown on point forty-four
'There must be a place' the preacher says 'I guess'
But a drifter will tell you no place is best

Shout for all the people who have nothing to say
`Cos were only gone tomorrow and here today

Was a one-off dirt jam when England came good
One night in a thousand they played 'knock on wood'
We used to go roamin` go roamin` around
When you don`t look for something it`s sure to be found

Sodom and Gomorrah
Let the DJ play
`Cos I`m only gone tomorrow and here today
Shout for all the people who have nothing to say
`Cos were only gone tomorrow and here today
Sodom and Gomorrah
Let the DJ play
`Cos I`m only gone tomorrow and here today
Yes I`m only gone tomorrow and here today

"Sodom and Gomorrah this is London gov."

the high street shops are boarded up
an' the terrace it is fenced in
see-through shields are walled across
the way that you came in
but there's no need to get excited

as the lorries bring the bacon in
'cos the housewives are all singing
groovy times are here again

they discovered one black saturday
that mobs don't march they run
so you can excuse the nervous triggerman
just this once for jumping the gun
as they were picking up the dead
out of the broken glass
yes it's number one, the radio said

groovy times groovy times groovy times

hey groovy

the intake is on the uptake
the acceleration's pretty grim
i can remember his first appearance
now look what's happened to him
so they put him in a dog suit
like from 1964
the king of early evening tv
groovy times forever more

groovy times

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they're restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row

Cinderella, she seems so easy
"It takes one to know one," she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo, he's moaning
"You Belong to Me I Believe"
And someone says," You're in the wrong place, my friend
You better leave"
And the only sound that's left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row

Now the moon is almost hidden
The stars are beginning to hide
The fortunetelling lady
Has even taken all her things inside
All except for Cain and Abel
And the hunchback of Notre Dame
Everybody is making love
Or else expecting rain
And the Good Samaritan, he's dressing
He's getting ready for the show
He's going to the carnival tonight
On Desolation Row

Now Ophelia, she's 'neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid
To her, death is quite romantic
She wears an iron vest
Her profession's her religion
Her sin is her lifelessness
And though her eyes are fixed upon
Noah's great rainbow
She spends her time peeking
Into Desolation Row

Einstein, disguised as Robin Hood
With his memories in a trunk
Passed this way an hour ago
With his friend, a jealous monk
He looked so immaculately frightful
As he bummed a cigarette
Then he went off sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet
Now you would not think to look at him
But he was famous long ago
For playing the electric violin
On Desolation Row

Dr. Filth, he keeps his world
Inside of a leather cup
But all his sexless patients
They're trying to blow it up
Now his nurse, some local loser
She's in charge of the cyanide hole
And she also keeps the cards that read
"Have Mercy on His Soul"
They all play on penny whistles
You can hear them blow
If you lean your head out far enough
From Desolation Row

Across the street they've nailed the curtains
They're getting ready for the feast
The Phantom of the Opera
A perfect image of a priest
They're spoonfeeding Casanova
To get him to feel more assured
Then they'll kill him with self-confidence
After poisoning him with words
And the Phantom's shouting to skinny girls
"Get Outta Here If You Don't Know
Casanova is just being punished for going
To Desolation Row"

Now at midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see that nobody is escaping
To Desolation Row

Praise be to Nero's Neptune
The Titanic sails at dawn
And everybody's shouting
"Which Side Are You On?"
And Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain's tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row

Yes, I received your letter yesterday
(About the time the door knob broke)
When you asked how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, they're quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I can't read too good
Don't send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From Desolation Row

Goodnight Rose, we're going to win
Put your troubles behind you and go on to bed
Let go of the worry, there's so much nobody understands
Don't live your life in such a hurry, life goes by us so so fast
And the sun will come up again, and I will be here,
If you get scared just hold my hand
Tomorrow is yours, and who knows, maybe we'll win
The whole she-bang
Goodnight Rose, goodnight, goodnight Rose

Good morning sunshine, a new day begins
And the hustle and bustle of the traffic reach you kindly
I can tell because you are smiling
Come on, give 'em everything that the winning demands
Just one more ribbon, Rose, before the mantle place caves in
And the sun will come up again, and I will be here
Rose, if you get scared, just hold my hand
Get out of that dress, go on to bed
The bar is closed
Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose
Goodnight Rose
Goodnight, goodnight Rose

Are you married?
Are you occupied?
You got kids?
How about HIV?
Are you married?
Are you occupied?
You got kids?
How about HIV?
Are you married?
Are you occupied?
You got kids?
How about HIV?

I said that to someone the other week but I don't think he got the reference :hmm:

Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd never been
But all the things that you've seen
Will slowly fade away

So I start a revolution from my bed
'Cause you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

And so Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger
I heard you say

Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows, if it's night or day.
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock 'n Roll band
Who'll throw it all away

I'm gonna start the revolution from my bed
'Cos you said the brains I had went to my head
Step outside cos summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
Cos you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

And So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as she's walking on by.
My soul slides away, but don't look back in anger
I heard you say

So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger
I heard you say

And So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late and she's walking on by
My soul slides away, but don't look back in anger, don't look back in anger
I heard you say

At least not today.

i used to hate their music, but seeing them live converted me, this was beautifully done.

Oo my little pretty one, pretty one
When you gonna give me some time, Sharona?
Oo you make my motor run, my motor run
Gun it coming off of the line, Sharona
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up with a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma my Sharona
Come a little closer, over here
Close enough to look in my eyes, Sharona
Keep a little mystery, kissin' me
Runnin' down the length of my thigh, Sharona
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma my Sharona
Ma ma ma my Sharona
When ya gonna get to me, get to me
Is it just a matter of time, Sharona
Is it a destiny, a destiny
Or is it just a game in my mind, Sharona
Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma
Myee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma my Sharona
Ooooh my Sharona

I fell into the ocean When you became my wife I risked it all aganist the sea To have a better life Marie you're the wild blue sky And men do foolish things You turn kings into beggars And beggars into kings

Pretend that you owe me nothing And all the world is green We can bring back the old days again And all the world is green

The fase forgives the mirror The worm forgives the plow The questions begs the answer Can you forgive me somehow Maybe when our story's over We'll go where it's always spring The band is playing our song again And all the world is green

Pretend that you owe me nothing And all the world is green We can bring back the old days again And all the world is green

The moon is yellow silver Oh the things that summer brings It's a love you'd kill for And all the world is green

He is balancing a diamond On a blade of grass The dew will settle on our grave(s) When all the world is green

Use just once and destroy
Invasion of our piracy
Afterbirth of a nation
Starve without your skeleton key

I love you for what I am not
I do not want what I have got
A blanket acne'ed with cigarette burns
Speak at once while taking turns

What is what i need
What is wrong with me
What is what i need

i'm nothing to do with what you think
If you ever think at all

Bi-polar opposites attract
All of a sudden my water broke

I love you for what I am not
I do not want what I have got
A blanket acne'ed with cigarette burns
Second-rate third degree burns

what is what i need
What is wrong with me
What do I think I think

hate your enemies
Save, save your friends
Find, find your place
Speak, speak the truth

what is what i need
What is wrong with me
what is what i need
What do I think I think

Use just once and destroy
Invasion of our piracy
Afterbirth of a nation
Starve without your skeleton key

You ain't but a fire on my sad estate
Burning my house to the ground
High and mellow, oh how she rides me
Out in the meadow where the taxis don't ride
A million times better than the pain
Ohhh, games
A million times quicker than the pain

You ain't but a telegram nobody's sendin'
Nobody sends me but you
High and mellow, slow and steady
Out in the meadow with you
A million times better than the pain
Ohhh, games
A million times better than the pain
Ohhh, games
Oooo, games
You ain't but a fire on my sad estate
Burning my house to the ground

Daddy told me, Look into the future,
Sit at your computer, be a good girl
And Mumma said Remember you're a lady
Think before you play and straighten your curls

Well, everybody's talking like I'm crazy
Dangerous and lazy, girl with no soul
But I've seen it all from where I'm hiding
Baby cos I'm slidin' out of control

Here I go, on the road, crank the stereo
I flick a finger to the world below, oh
Here I am, dirty hands, I don't give a damn
Shut your mouth because it's my show

I don't need no good advice, I'm already wasted
I don't need some other life, cold and complicated
I don't need no Sunday trips, tea and sympathising
I don't need no special fix to anaesthetise me

Daddy always told me to remember
Leave the boys to later, don't you drop down
Mumma said I'd never get to heaven
Hanging til eleven with the wrong crowd

Everybody's talking like I'm lonely
Just another phoney girl who got played
But I dig the music that I'm making
Baby and I'll break it into your brain

Here I go, on the road, crank the stereo
I flick a finger to the world below, oh
Here I am, dirty hands, I don't give a damn
Shut your mouth, because it's my show

I don't need no good advice, I'm already wasted
I don't need some other life, cold and complicated
I don't need no Sunday trips, tea and sympathising
I don't need no special fix to anaesthetise me

I don't need no good advice, I'm already wasted
I don't need some other life, cold and complicated
I don't need no Sunday trips, tea and sympathising
I don't need no special fix to anaesthetise me

I don't need no good advice
No well intentioned sacrifice
And I don't need no Sunday trips
No chocolate box or speed for kicks
Hell I don't need no beauty sleep
No need to count those dirty sheep
And I don't need no bedtime prayer
Cos frankly I don't even care

Hey Timothy
I wish for clairvoyance
I wanna see my wife and kids
And how I will live and how I will die
(Son you should!)

It's out of fright
It's self-absorption
I wanna learn from my mistakes
Before they can scare me away from the drugs
(Son you should!)

I picture a man who misses his father
He never learned to cook for himself
And spends all his time on his waistline
(Son you should invest!)

I picture a man who lives in the past
He keeps a book of photographs
Of his younger self, clairvoyant self
(Son you should invest!)
