What are you playing at the moment?

Just started GTAV on the pc last night.... have played every GTA up till Vice City and wanted to try one of the 'newer' one's.
Seems a bit of fun but also a wee bit sluggish compared to my nostalgic memories....so i've just gone and downloaded VC to give it a try
after about 15 years. ;)

Have Mafia 1 and Psychonauts on the backburner too to start up and dip in to over these nice dark winter months.

Total war Warhammer still. I've parked cyberpunk for the minute but will finish it off later. Want to get into Lamplighters League but Cobalt Core comes out in a week, so it will be touch and go. Also got a Battletech modded game ongoing, and dipping into Hoplite and my endless attempts to get a high score on Kingdom Rush.

Oh and I played Sid Meiers Pirates again last night. Absolute classic.

Every video game: here is a limited resource. Be careful how you use it.

Me: never use it, gotcha.

Video game: no, uhh--

Me: Hoard like a dragon, understood

Perhaps the only thing I liked about Doom Eternal was the basic requirement that you use every weapon all the time, because you can't hoard enough ammo for any of them. The rest, not so much.

Up to 10 hours in Skyrim already and seem to have done loads but not really gone anywhere.

Might be playing this for a while.

Yes, I realise I'm late to the party. 🙃

I’ve sunk shameful amounts of hours into Skyrim.

If you haven’t discovered the companion mod Inigo, that’s worth installing. What platform are you playing on?

Oh and if you haven’t met grndma Shirely: https://youtube.com/@ShirleyCurryTheOlderGamer?feature=shared

I desperately needed something to get me off of Cyberpunk 2077... Tried GTA5 but couldn't stand the setting, the mechanics or the dialogue. I exchanged it at CEX for Horizon Forbidden West and a few hours in I'm finding that quite fun and engaging. Ancient ruins of a fallen civilization, nice combat mechanics, vast open world, in many ways it reminds me of Elden Ring but with adjustable difficulty and more in-game company that makes solo play feel less lonesome. Or Skyrim in a warm place

I'm tempted to try Cyberpunk but can't actually tell what it's all about.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is on offer at the moment ... 6 quid for base game and several (all?) DLCs
Trying this again recently and I'm liking it this time. It's probably worth it just for a try.

I've still been playing football tactics and glory too a lot on my steam deck.

I tried to have a go at Fortnite again. I just can’t get used to the controls and am so shit. Mr Looby saw me trying to kill someone and told me to give up now because there’s no hope.

I can play loads of games well, why not this? 😄

Finished Ratchet & Clank : A Rift Apart on the PC. That was a good game. Beautiful to look at, yet performs well. Forces you to not stick with one weapon, but you can have 4-5 favourites out of the 18 or so you get. Great movement, great shooting. The occasional annoying bit of platforming, but only for bonus items. I honestly don't know what would improve it. I had a blast.

Power Wash Simulator on the PS4.

And, U75, it is probably the best game I've played all year.
You're going from job to job, Power washing things. The first mission was cleaning 'my' van, then I cleaned someone's garden, then someone's golf car, and now I'm about a third of a way through cleaning a playground, it's so simple and soothing. I LOVE IT!!!

Yeah I like this stuff.

Jedi : Survivor on sale at the Epic Store for £20. I think it's worth that, and I'll let you know how it goes and whether seven patches later it actually works on the PC.

I've just finished the first one, fallen order. The finale was totally epic.

it fun but the 12 hours to install it on the ps5 was fucking annoying

*shakes fist at what the fuck was on the install disc

My PS4 feels like it's on its last legs - at various points I get white/blue flashing lights of doom & sometimes it takes an age to connect to the TV. I've tried different HDMI ports/cables + rebooting etc but still, can take an annoyingly long time to get it started. It was a refurb when I got it and it's lasted a few years.

Anyway; PS5 - worth the near 400 quid? I mean in terms of games/general experience etc. Why would I need the more expensive one? Do they lie down like the PS4 does so I can fit it under the TV or do they have to stand up?

hmm have mine lying flat as heard the heat sink is partially liquid metal inside so standing it up would damage it into he long run

still working out if it was worth 400 bucks as wait till that price point to buy

will say the consol if a beast in size

The more expensive one has more memory? You can easily add memory to the cheaper one if you require more. Which you probably will as even disks install to the memory.

Get the disc one. I bought the discless one as it was the only one available at the time but it's annoying. You can't get cheap games and you can't sell your old ones.

Check games and make sure there's one you want to play. Xbox with game pass has absolutely fucking shed loads.

I've just played through Horizon Forbidden West, its absolutely great fun. The very wokest thing I've ever seen, loved it. Flying mount, fuck yeah! Great combat system - no magic as such but there are so many different weapons and effects it doesnt matter. Beautiful everything, balanced and err credibly incredible fantasy/sci-fi combo. It made me buy Horizon Zero Dawn, which is now installed but not started.

That's because Deathloop is dragging me in now, it's trippy as fuck. Has anyone played it / loved it / solved it / hated it / quit?

Oh man, you’re in for a treat. I think they’re both the best-written games (for dialogue, plot AND characters) I’ve ever played.
Mind you, it’s a shame you started with the second one.
