Wanting To Find Out If Someone Has Passed Valid Degree

Some still publish in various newspapers, for example Scottish Universities tend to use the Scotsman or the Herald, Aberdeen/Dundee may use the Press and Journal pogofish will know.

I don't know about English universities.

We use the Scotsman and P&J and It think they all publish grad lists in the Times or TES and maybe the Guardian too but IIRC for a few years now, Students have been able to opt-out of the published lists if they want.

There is a procedure to confirm degree awards via the Uni registries as well.

Nigel - is it that you're willing and able to help them pay to continue in education if you're sure you know where the money is going? (Assuming 'help' means paying some or all of the costs.) If so, can you not just ask for bank details or a link to the LSE website's payment page for the course, as others have similarly suggested?

Or is there more to it, and you primarily want to investigate their honesty?

Something else?
This is primarily with and in combination with my partner/girlfriend who has a more 'trusting' and in many cases more easily manipulated relationship with said person!
However, as mentioned in posts above, if they have not passed an undergraduate degree at the highest grade possible; 'first with distinctions' and application for somewhere like LSE is not 100% sincere, there are and possibly could be many problems, concerns and issues; as illustrated and mentioned in previous posts.
