Contract Q: clause agreeing to opt out of 48 hour week limit for office job. OK or no?

I just want to briefly, having had some sleep and time to think reflect on it and maybe have a more reasonable response, come back to the whole doughnuts needing to be ready in the morning for breakfast.
People, doughnuts for breakfast are not a "need".
No-one should have to work nights so you can chose to pay for fresh doughnut in the morning.
Go and make yourselves some toast you lazy fucks.
Only people having to work nights should be in jobs where there is a real and actual need (not a first world "want") for a service to be available at that time.

Pay me enough and I'll stay up all night making donuts.

There's no actual "need" for most treat type foods at any time of day tbf.

True but I feel the need to start promoting doughnuts as a teatime treat, warm and fresh, then big corporate doughnut will want more people on days instead of working unsociable hours that fucks up their and their families lives :)

Thing is night shifts used to pay a fair bit more. When I left school I was on great money compared to day shifts for moving boxes around, polishing light bulbs and other meaningful tasks.
It would be a bit less if he was on days, but trust me he's not being adequately compensated for working nights vs. working days, and the pay for both shifts is shit.
